This issue could probably be a perfect example for a "transition" book.  While it doesn't really bring anything new to the table, it does bridge the gap from the previous story arc to the new one that Tomasi is hopefully going to be bringing to the table.  What happens in this story is all good.  We get to see Dick continuing to establish himself in New York while battling thugs, and Tomasi is planting the seeds for Dick's next big adventure.  The return of Talia to the pages is really exciting, and the story closes with what looks to be hints of a brewing war between Talia and Nightwing.  Also, I really liked how there was this sort of tension between the two of them, and it's easy to see that their relationships with Batman certainly play a part in their relationship with each other.

I'll be honest when I say that I was a little bit worried about the art in this book, only because there's several different pencillers for the issue, but the art actually surprised me.  I felt that the art team did a great job fulfilling all of the duties while presenting the story in a fluid manner.  This was not like Immortal Iron Fist where each artist's style was completely jarring.  There were the subtle differences in the art styles, and it was evident to me when certain people were drawing.  But, like I said, it wasn't so jarring as to slow or confuse the story.

Overall, I had a great time reading this issue, and this book continues to be one of the more solid titles that DC is putting out at the moment.  I can't wait for the next issue.

awesome review, I'm so glad to have quality Nightwing stories back.  Of DC characters he's my favorite next to G'nort.
