  1. Please let this creative team make Superman cool again.

  2. I’ve always loved Rocafort’s art, but never got hooked into any of his books. Hopefully, this is the one!

  3. Call me nutty, but I’ve got a good feeling about this.

  4. I am buying superman for the first time. ever. dont let me down ken.

  5. I fell off this title a few months ago. I’m gonna pick this up. Hopefully it on’t let me down.

  6. I have such high hopes for this. I could almost cry at the Superman titles so far. The only reason I still have them on my pull and still read them is because they are Superman and I cannot drop a Superman book…. but… I am hoping this brings Superman back in all his awesomeness… please write me good stories so I can look forward to Superman Books again!

  7. After the disaster that was Superman #1 (which was the first time EVER I said there was too much writing in a comic) I dropped the title. Now, Rocafort and Lobdell have brought me back, because of what I’ve been loving with Red Hood. Let’s hope they can bring that magic to Supes.

  8. Rocafort art is the only reason I’m picking this up. Though I don’t hate Lobdell’s writing, him and Rocafort are a decent team.

  9. I dropped Superman after issue 8. I could bear no more of that rubbish. But Rocafort’s art is superb and his Man of Steel looks pretty damn good. Picked this up today to give the new team a try, looking forward to it.

  10. art was very good really felt kryptonian.

  11. I really, really liked this. Great characterization for two characters who are rarely anything less than ideals, and the twist at the end literally made me gasp. If this is what Lobdell and Rocafort’s run is going to be like, sign me up.

  12. @Andrew Gaboury: Understandable. There was a lot of talking in this book. The difference between this and Perez’s run for me is that the narration is bombastic and passionate, like a great Silver Age comic, rather than dull and lifeless. Jor-El and Lara are fleshed out as characters rather than the sterile robots they usually are. Couple that with Rocafort’s otherworldly art, some neat forshadowing with the Eradicators and the twist at the end (which, I’ll be honest, earned a lot of good will from me) and this was the most fun book I read this week.

    Fuck it. POTW.

  13. I read this and liked the story after I read it a second time. Everyone’s raving about the art but to me it’s incomplete and his characters meld into the same panel too often. For me it’s too busy and hurts the story. Maybe it’s time to just stop reading comics, too much garbage very little quality.

    • Agreed on the art.

I am one of the few who doesn’t like Rocafort’s style, I guess.

It really impeded my enjoyment on this issue.

Doubt I’ll be back for more …
