Batman Confidential #18

Well, I have to say, I never thought I'd say this about an issue of Batman Con, but if you like the Bat-family at all, you should be picking this up!

For some reason, I LOVE current comics that revisit old eras but in a modern way. I'm not keen on golden age comics really, but I really enjoy when we get flashback issues (a la "characterhere" year one series), because I get to enjoy the characters from that time without all the camp.

and I now totally have a crush on teenage Barbara Gordon! She's so sweet and innocent in this series but extremely capable. All the physical back-and-forth between her and Catwoman these last two issues have been impressive (as well as the fantastic inner monologue bits.)

And I could say something about the art, but really.. it's Kevin Maquire.

So, yeah. Get on it. You'll be glad you did.
