I think Bendis has dug himself into a bit of a hole with this concept, in that it seems largely predicated on reveals. I, like a lot of other people, was super excited for Secret Invasion #1. My excitement has been dwindling ever since. David Lynch says that the most exciting part of a mystery is the middle- the point at which your brain is firing with all sorts of questions and possibilities, anticipation and suspense. Then, the reveal comes and the questions are answered, the possibilities are closed off, and you're done anticipating. For SI, the middle of the mystery was right before issue #1 came out. Everyone was excited about "Who's a Skrull?!?!" Now we know. And we're less excited. And then I felt let down when issues #2 and #3 didn't have any reveals.
That being said, I enjoyed this issue fine. Cheung's great, and getting into the Skrulls' heads was pretty interesting. But not exciting.

this was my favorite SI crossover issue so far, it made me glad I'd been reading New Avengers since issue 1.
so what happens to the people the Skrulls are copying?
