Deathlok #1 (OF 7)

WRITER: Charlie Huston

COLORED BY: Andy Troy
COVER BY: Brandon Peterson

I remember reading Deathlok comics as a kid so I picked this up on a lark.  I wanted to see what the new Marvel Knights version would be like and I had mixed feelings about it.  Aside from the cover, there was no Deathlok in this issue.  That's ok I guess because this is the 1st issue after all.   I liked the new premise of a world fighting over Oil and televising the war games for entertainment.  The plot felt like Starship Troopers combined with Death Race.  However, this was the most dialogue heavy Deathlok comic I could ever remember reading.  Most of the dialogue came in the form of the narration, carried out by the wargames commentators.  I thought the art was fantastic. The artist had a great handle on perspective that made the images stand out.  This was a great issue but it kept me interested to see what happens next.
