New Avengers #38 was by far the most gut wrenching book this week. Bendis tears apart Luke and Jessica's marriage while leaving both characters with understandable positions. Jessica is just trying to protect their baby and Luke's paranoia (again I think understandable given the position he's been in) just won't let him trust Tony Stark or the Mighty Avengers Jessica is seeking protection with. Just like in a real relationship nobody comes out looking like an angel (Luke is obviously bullheaded, but I think you could make a similar case for Jessica), and in the end both of them really made mistakes they'll live to regret. Bravo to Bendis for keeping true to his characters.
