Let me spoil myself before I spoil the book. This is going to be rather stream-of-consciousness. I’m not a very good writer.  Disclaimer out of the way, let’s get to it.
Three days after I read this, I still don't know what to think. Best word to describe my feelings was uneven. The art is great. The cover is kick-ass. When I got to the middle of the book, I thought there had been a printing error. Three double-splash drawings? Three? In a row? Huh? I don't even see Iron Man in 2 of those. I could be wrong, there's a lot going on, maybe he's in there somewhere. The splash pages totally brought me out of the story. Especially the second and the third. Where's Waldo looses its appeal for me real quick. Can't blame Bagley, though, he was probably told what to draw. This is another head scratcher. Bendis ran out of words? Bendis? I have a hard time believing that, but it's the simplest explanation. I also though it was out of character for Doom to mutter "Damn" not once, but twice. He's not that introspective. I'd imagine him taunting and/or cursing Tony and Company instead of saying “Damn.
However, there were good moments. Doom incinerating that scientist is CLASSIC. If you like Doom, you loved that panel. I also enjoyed "hearing" both sets of armor talk, even though it got repetitive towards the end. The shift in art styles was a nice touch as well. I might go back and give this book a higher rating if at the end of the arc, the Sentry doesn't come back. Never liked him much. All in all, I'm looking forward to next issue (but no splash pages, please).
