This series has completely redeemed itself in my eyes. It started out great, got bad quick and its ended as it started - on a high note, despite the fact that it's changed everything we thought we knew about the Ultimate Universe and made my head hurt along the way.
So, Nick Fury's even more of an asshole than we already thought he was. The Hulk killed the Parkers. And we finally meet Ultimate Rick Jones, which was a high point for me as the character is absolutely fantastic.
Was it the best thing I've ever read? Really. No.
Was it a decent set-up for Ultimatum? Kinda.
Was it a true mind-fuck? God yes.
But, it was still the best thing I read this week apart from an Ex Machina trade and a magnificent Dr. Who reprint fest....and the art was bloomin' awesome, too.
