After hearing the brief mention of this book in the audio podcast, I had to pick it up (though a few weeks late--hey, I was on my honeymoon!).  What a great surprise!

The story was fun on at least two levels--one, the jokey-but-not-hokey banter between The FF, and two, the fun conceit of the plot.  Granted, I'm an English teacher, so this stuff especially appeals to me, but the whole meta-fiction thing is worth exploring, and Reed & the gang are the perfect choice to do it.  I'll now be seeking out more Paul Cornell-penned stories, for sure.

As for the art--it left more than a little to be desired.  The coloring made the book look like someone accidentally put it in the wash; the colors were faded and it seemed like some of the pencils bled together.  It was also pretty cartoony, which might not have been a bad choice; I simply might not be a fan of the artist's style.

That being said, I'll definitely be picking up the rest of this series.  FUN!
