A nice little coda to House of Secret Civil Invasion.
Janet is buried, although in the best of soap opera and comic tradition there is no body, and poor Hank Pym has to deal with the loss of his loved one and a while-you-were-sleeping new Pariah status.
There are some lovely character moments, most of them marred by art which had me wondering who the heck was whom throughout the issue. Tony has a beard, ah that's him. WonderMan has red eyes, ah gotcha! And Thor has a hammer. Apart from that I could tell boy from girl and that's about it. Worst facework since Joan Rivers.
It detracted from the above mentioned lovely character moments as well as a poignant splash page summary of everything Hank missed. Especially with our mind fresh from Ultimates, it's hard to think of Hank anywhere as sympathetic, but they do a nice job here. The teaser scene, the discovery of Captain America way back when, really does justice to both the legendary status of the Avengers, and the terriffic characterization of Bendis.
Best Line? "Hey, Aren't you the Green Goblin?"
Story: 3 - Good
Art: 2 - Average
I'm not sure I agree about the art. I was a little weirded out by the recap reactions in the car, but otherwise I really liked the art.
