Ok, Jeph Loeb has officially joined only ONE other creator on my list of comics professionals whose work I will avoid like the plague. I won't mention who, but let's just say his name is R. Liefeld. Wait, that's too obvious, how about Rob L. Yeah, that works. I personally find David Finch's art abhorrent, and kind of insulting to those of us who know what human faces actually look like, but I'll give the art a '2' because his layouts are surprisingly serviceable and it was well inked. I guess. Either way, thank the Watcher that this is over!

yeah, i agree with you but why?
Posted by edward on 07/30/09 at 01:57 AMSorry, I skipped that part because so many people pulled this, the reasons why should be obvious. The actual plot beats could have been done in one issue, and they and all the filler in between didn't feel at all like the Ultimate characters that I've been reading since USM #1 forward. I'm really curious as to why Loeb was chosen to write this, since he hasn't touched the the Ult. Universe since its inception. He just has no idea who these characters are. It's like the older kid from next door comes over to play with your action figures and starts renaming them and decides that your Superman figure can't fly because you lost his cape. Ever since Ultimate Power, the Ultimate U. has been creeping further and further away from that, and this whole series just seems to be the polar opposite. They've killed off some of the most iconic Marvel characters, and left some seriously questionable ones still standing. The only good thing to come of this, is the return of Ult. Nick Fury.
