Doing the podcast is fun and all, but let's be honest, listening to the 3 of us talk to each other can get repetitive, so we look to you, the iFanboy listeners to participate in the podcast! "How can I get in on the fun?" you may ask yourself, well here's how:
• E-Mail us at contact@ifanboy.com with any questions, comments or anything that may be on your mind.
• Call us at 1-888-FANBOYS (326-2697) and leave a voicemail
Please don't forget to leave your name and where you're writing/calling from and each week, we'll pick the best e-mails and voicemails to include on the podcast!

Again, the way you guys can do almost 1,000 podcasts per month....amazing.
Yeah I want to listen to this in the worst way right now
Posted by TheNextChampion on 07/20/09 at 02:24 PMI will subscribe as soon as I get home. I look forward to listening.
Posted by stuclach on 07/20/09 at 02:49 PMAhhh, Ron's flurrious food pictures on flckr begins t make sense...
Posted by patio on 07/20/09 at 03:08 PMGood inaugural episode. Ideas for future episodes - stories of dinners with comic creators that went horribly wrong... or right. Fake names acceptable. Best meals with comic greats. Best Mexican, Italian, Thai, etc. Pizza Wars: Chicago vs. New York vs ? And every so often, a "live" broadcast where you invite a comic creator to a meal and tape while you talk about comics and the food you're eating.
Will subscribe.
Posted by Tad on 07/20/09 at 03:35 PMListened to it, but I'm not quite sure I'm on board for this idea of comic peeps talking about food. Don't get me wrong, I'm always up for listening to great restaurant suggestions, I just don't know whether it is something I want when I'm visiting iFanboy.
Though I suppose I would be more excited for this if I were, in fact, going to SDCC
Posted by drakedangerz on 07/20/09 at 04:46 PMGreat show...for Italian food Filippi's Pizza Grotto in Little Italy, Nobu is great but it's going to be crazy because it's so close, for Modern Mexican El Vitral, and finally In and Out Burgers.
Posted by grottesco on 07/20/09 at 06:32 PMRon + food + comics = win.
I mean, a husky guy's always gonna know where to get the best food, right?
Posted by Garrett on 07/20/09 at 06:42 PMMy favorite food in San Diego: CALIFORNIA BURRITOS! You can get them from several different taquerias, but the one that comes to mind right now is Santanas Mexican Grill (10 locations around SD: http://www.santanas.com). Basically a California Burrito is a taqueria-style burrito with FRENCH FRIES inside! soooo good!
Posted by RyanHoyt on 07/20/09 at 07:11 PMYeah I agree california burritos are awesome, specially for breakfast.
Posted by grottesco on 07/20/09 at 07:39 PMCan't wait to listen to this. The Ifanboy content is always such a high quality I think I would listen to them discussing paint drying!
Posted by cenquist on 07/20/09 at 08:02 PMNeat idea!
Posted by SunnyvaleTrash on 07/20/09 at 08:22 PMWow, this is awesome. You should get Agent_M on this too.
Downloading now.
Posted by kwisdumb on 07/20/09 at 08:37 PMOhhhh something new to listen to at work. With the regular show, talksplode, booksplode, movie specials, this and murmur, I'm going to have the ifanboy voices bleeding out my ears. I don't mind it.
Posted by Jurassicalien on 07/20/09 at 08:44 PMhusky? seriously? it's like I'm transported back to 1985 and shopping for clothes at Sears with my Mom.
Posted by ron on 07/20/09 at 09:03 PMI have no idea what a California Burrito is. Is it like a Dirty Sanchez?
Posted by drakedangerz on 07/20/09 at 09:13 PM@Drake: Either that or it's a Cleveland Steamer
Posted by TheNextChampion on 07/20/09 at 09:44 PMLove the intro music, long live New Order!
1st show was pretty solid, had to eat by the end of the show...you bastards!
Posted by PimpToxie on 07/21/09 at 12:23 AMI don't know if they have this restaurant in NY, but in San Diego the best steaks are at Flemings, or Donovan's. I normally am not a steak person, but these were so good that I felt no need to add any extra salt/pepper or steak sauce.
Posted by UncleBob on 07/21/09 at 02:19 AMA great place to eat is Lou and Mickeys On 5th and L Street if the iFanboy guys want to go i cant probably get you reservations if you want. Its literally across from the Convention center.
Posted by English on 07/21/09 at 02:24 AMI want an episode with Paul and Duane Swierczynski eating/talking in Philly.
'So there's Pats and then there's Geno's......So yeah that's about it'
Shortest podcast ever.
Posted by TheNextChampion on 07/21/09 at 02:36 AMThere are a lot of great places to eat in Philly. And again, I've never eaten a cheese steak in my life.
Posted by PaulMontgomery on 07/21/09 at 07:21 AMYou know I was really impressed with all your 4th of July episodes but they always made me wonder if you guys were really into comics or food more.... guys we know at least one of you love them equally
Posted by peterPanic on 07/21/09 at 09:14 AM@Paul I'm kind of disturbed that you've never had a cheesesteak. You've really never, ever had a cheesesteak, from anywhere?
Posted by WonderAli on 07/21/09 at 10:58 AMNot one from anywhere. Never appealed to me.
Posted by PaulMontgomery on 07/21/09 at 11:00 AMWow. Not even as a kid?
Posted by WonderAli on 07/21/09 at 11:24 AMBut...it's cheese and steak. Two of the most essential food groups for a growing boy!!
Posted by drakedangerz on 07/21/09 at 12:16 PMYou take a good steak, cut it up and drown it with crappy cheese. I'm speechless.
Posted by chlop on 07/21/09 at 01:20 PM@Paul: I'm suppose to believe your a Philly resident?
You make me want to puke! Then again I know what to get you for X-Mas.
Posted by TheNextChampion on 07/21/09 at 01:40 PMI'm more of a pizza guy. Not big into sandwiches.
Posted by PaulMontgomery on 07/21/09 at 01:46 PMBut thats more of a chicago thing and...
I don't understand the world anymore. -_-;
Posted by TheNextChampion on 07/21/09 at 01:53 PMSorry I'm not the cliche you want me to be, kiddo. Actually I'm not. Sorry, that is.
New York? Chicago? Philly? Geography don't matter. It's about the shop and the people who run it. And that can happen anywhere. Just have to find it.
Posted by PaulMontgomery on 07/21/09 at 01:59 PM@Paul: Kiddo? I'm only 5 years younger then you! lol
Posted by TheNextChampion on 07/21/09 at 02:20 PMI know. It's amazing.
Posted by PaulMontgomery on 07/21/09 at 02:29 PM@Paul: What that you claim to be a resident of Philly? Or because we arent that far apart in age?
This is like the older brother I never had!
Posted by TheNextChampion on 07/21/09 at 02:44 PMI know it's silly, but I'm fascinated by this. I understand not having them now, but how did you avoid them as a kid? We had them in our school cafeteria and I didn't grow up in Philly.
Posted by WonderAli on 07/21/09 at 02:44 PMHaha. Uh, hmm. I was never in a situation where I only had the one option at lunch. I guess I ate one of the other options or passed on it entirely. I love pizza, but I really don't like cheese on anything else.
Posted by PaulMontgomery on 07/21/09 at 02:53 PMCheese is one of those magical foods that make anything better. Like Bacon or even more Bacon.
Excuse me....*drives off to Geno's*
Posted by TheNextChampion on 07/21/09 at 02:56 PMI am exactly like that. I only eat cheese on pizza, and nothing else. On the other hand, I've had a cheesesteak, but holding the cheese.
Posted by josh on 07/21/09 at 02:58 PMI had a substitute in high school that ordered his pizza...WITHOUT cheese!! Hated the stuff. Thought it was disgusting and only used to hold the toppings on the pizza. It should also be mentioned that this guy got fired for undisclosed reasons a few weeks later.
Moral of the story is, if you don't like cheese on your pizza you could lose your job.
Posted by drakedangerz on 07/21/09 at 03:03 PM@drake: That's a lesson everyone needs to be taught. Get me the number to the Sesame Street writers!
Posted by TheNextChampion on 07/21/09 at 04:02 PMThanks for doing this podcast, guys. I actually just e-mailed the link along to my dad, as he and I went to SDCC a few times together for some father/son bonding time. We always had to decide what to eat and where while we were there. This podcast brought that all back. Now he's hitting other cities around the U.S. doing marathons, so maybe he'll get some tips on how to find places to eat while he's out and about. Thanks again!
Posted by JeffR on 07/21/09 at 04:25 PMThis is an AWESOME podcast. I am a SoCal native so I have my hidden gems to eat down in San Diego but I love hearing where everyone else is going. Can't wait for your NYCC suggestions or even up in SF.
Posted by Supergrande76 on 07/22/09 at 02:10 AMFood + comic + SD Comic con = great first show
Posted by victorbarriga on 07/22/09 at 02:32 AM
Apparently, iFanboy is powerfully anti-cheese. Everyone who lives in Wisconsin is extremely insulted.
Posted by stuclach on 07/22/09 at 08:47 AM@stuclach: Everyone in Wisconsin, Philadelphia, Greece, France, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden.
They are shaking their fists violently at Paul and the ifanboys right now. :)
Posted by TheNextChampion on 07/22/09 at 08:47 PMI enjoyed the podcast, and it will be very useful if I ever make it out to SDCC. I l ive in Florida, so I don't think it's likely. If you guys ever make it to Mega-Con in Orlando, I can give you some suggestions. For future podcast, I think you should cover your taste preferences a bit so the listener can have an idea of whose opinion best matches their own.
BTW, peanut butter hamburgers are delicious. I was skeptical at first, but I've been a fan ever since.
Posted by bffnut on 07/23/09 at 09:26 AMOK, now that I've actually listened to the show, I can stop picking on Paul about cheesesteaks :)
I loved this podcast! I love food, I love travel, and I love comics. So already it was going to be good. But I thought everyone was interesting and informative; I actually took notes! Can't wait for more of these.
Posted by WonderAli on 07/23/09 at 02:59 PMIs this an all R squared podcast? Cuz that would be great. Also Husky is an ugly word, full figured is much kinder.
Posted by 0and18 on 07/24/09 at 07:02 PMI'm going to make my girlfriend watch this episode against her will before I take her to SDCC 2010 against her will.
Posted by ultimatehoratio on 07/27/09 at 01:27 AMCome to Scotland for 'fish and chips' and 'curry'.
Posted by s30 on 08/04/09 at 08:51 PM
