User Reviews Ignore Heat Waves!

There are too many books to cover, and our opinions are not the last word, so here are some of what the iFanbase had to say about their comics from the last week.

RobAbsten bought into the hype about Amazing Spider-Man, but wasn't all that happy with what he got with issue #566.  Story 2 / Art 2

So, after hearing all the gushing about how great this book has been since the BND reboot I put it back on my list. I've been pretty happy about it so far, Last ep was really good, this one not so much.  This one was pretty average. Plain. Enh, okay, I'll say it: boring. It just felt flat. And wrong.

JumpingJupiter felt some sympathy for Joker's Asylum Poison Ivy after Jason Aaron's superb Penguin story last week.  Story 3 / Art 3

Despite it's weaknesses this is a fun book! Emphasis on fun! It's nothing especially substantial but it's a nice light snack. So sit down in your most comfortable chair with your favorite beverage and sink your teeth in this fanciful Tale From the Crypt, uhm I mean Joker's Asylum.

Neb, sweet Neb, he of many fantastic reviews really did a nice job of summing up the relative disappointment of Hellblazer #246.  Story 2 / Art 3

I liken this issue to a tire with a nail in it.  While it was inflated just a month ago, after some time, it turns out to be completely flat.  After laying some good ground work for a really fun story in last month's issue, Aaron's finale to his brief run on this title finishes with the whimper of a gnat.

TheNextChampion champions classic comics in Omnibus form with his plea for recognition for the Howard the Duck Omnibus.  Story 4 / Art 4

I know a lot of people on here to this day dont know who or what Howard the Duck is....All you need to know he's a kick ass smoking duck who tried to run for president in the 1970's. If that doesn't at least catch your eye to flip threw [SIC] this book, I'll be amazed.

TheNextChampion always has very insightful things to write and is very attentive to all the little details, often prompting me to go back and read things again for things I missed the first time. I wouldn't be surprised to see him as a regular columnist on this site someday.
