Tonight's episode - Instinct
Last week rocked. It really, truly did. I feel like there is a show in there some where and the new overseers are getting very close to finding it. It's clearly not "Smallville" anymore what with most of the original cast gone (we're down to just Clark and Chloe) and the show now taking place pretty much exclusively in Metropolis. I think that Tad made an interesting point in the comment of a previous episode in that they are basically already doing Superman at this point and unless everything about the mythos radically changes, it doesn't make sense in the world that they have created that Clark would ever put on the suit and have a secret identity. Very interesting stuff to ponder.
This week Maxima comes a-looking for a mate, which is what Maxima does.

I think that two things this show needs to do is
1) Stop mentioning Lana
2) Stop mentioning Lex
It's hard to move on when you keep talking about people not on the show anymore.

Another thing this show needs to do
3) Throw a lot of money at Michael Mckean and get him to come back as a regular (or semi-regular) as Perry White. It would make the show 10x awesomer.

@Crippler - yes, there have been a couple whitesnake references. she made clark a mix tape of whitesnake songs when she was under the influence of that lipstick on the valentines day episode and clark was on red K.

@Crippler - There as one episode in the early going (saeson one or two) where Clark and Lana went to the top of a water tower and they could see Metropolis from there, so it can't be THAT far, which is something I've found to be really silly.
