Well, they promised a big-event-shocker of an ending, and I guess they delivered, didn't they?
I'm not going to spoil the ending for those who haven't read it yet, but it recitifies some of the complaints that I've heard from some long time X-fans about Morrison's run on the book.
On a more personal level, I felt that this issue really kicked some life back into a book that , for me, had become a bit stagnant over the last few months. The previous storyline bored me to tears. This issue snapped me back to attention and brought back the excitement I had when Morrison had originally started on New X-Men. Now, if only Frank Quietly had been on art, this issue would have been close to perfect.
Of course, I mean no disrespect to Phil Jimenez, who is one of my favorite artists working today. If I can't have Quietly, then I'll happily take Jimenez. I was mesmorized by the opening splash page of Professor Xavier. Jimenez is really perfect for this book. He handles action well, and is very strong with giving each character a distinct look, which is a talent that not every comic book artist can lay claim to.
I guess that I can't go much more in-depth in this recommendation without talking about the big reveal. I'm just happy to be really looking forward to the next issue, which is something that hasn't happened in quite a few months.

Yeah, I liked this issue alot. It made alot of the goofier concepts that have gone on in this run make alot more sense. Jimenez is great.
Fables still really grabbed me this week. Sorta soap opera ending though.
Nice to see the X-Men actually show up in Ultimate X-men this month. Who knows? Maybe the Hulk will actually be in the Hulk next month.
Teen Titans had the best line of the week though.
"I Lie to Batman."

That was quite excellent.
I didn't read Ult. X-Men before, so it hadn't occurred to me that I wasn't seeing them in the book, but I wasn't missing them either.
I've really enjoyed Bendis' X-men quite a lot. It's a fun time. I liked when Peter made a crack about Butch and Sundance, and said "nobody gets me."
Granted the reference was a little old for a teen, he's a geek, so it works. Plus neither Daredevil, nor Wolverine get a lot of films in their schedules, I would bet.

I agree. I really was going to drop this book. The last arc stunk.
