This is hysterical. I love that he doesn't even do a voice for it. Or he does, but it's not the Doom voice.
Posted by PaulMontgomery on 07/14/09 at 12:19 PMWow. I just, I mean...it's like...except it's, I, um...
Wow.

That man is like the furries' Jesus; he has single-handedly redeemed cosplay.
Posted by Jimski on 07/14/09 at 12:31 PMfn' geneius! ha ha
Posted by Caifan99 on 07/14/09 at 12:41 PMSooo not funny, it's stupid.
Posted by sythspawn on 07/14/09 at 12:51 PMThat's why Doom is always so quiet at Osborn's evil meetings, he's working on his standup. @Paul Agreed, his non-Doom voice is hilarious.
Posted by hbkhumanity on 07/14/09 at 12:56 PMI'm booking my tickets to Laughvaria now!
Posted by PaulMontgomery on 07/14/09 at 12:58 PMThat is one of the most uncomfortable things I have ever seen. Keep your eye on the table full of middle aged women in the front. They are so confused that they can barely make eye contact.
Posted by stuclach on 07/14/09 at 01:02 PMWow... I don't even know what to say. This reminds me of a time during my Undergrad when our theatre group was doing The Fantastiks. A friend of mine dressed up as Doom during their last performance, and just as they bowed... he kicked open the door to the audience, threw down a "smoke bomb" and began to go into a long soliloquy about he had finally capture the Fantastic Four. It was quite funny. Sadly, only 4 people in the audience got it.
Posted by PraxJarvin on 07/14/09 at 01:08 PMI love that there are like 5 or 6 comic guys who are laughing there butts off, a bunch of regular guys get it and are laughing and almost no women laughing.

I thought this was the guy I met in my comic shop in MN one time. He does these home videos that are like a sitcom based around Doctor Doom living in the Minneapolis suburbs. They were hilarious, but I can't find them on youtube or any other video site. He was showing them in the shop one day an I haven't run into him since. Shame.
Posted by Anson17 on 07/14/09 at 01:47 PMBeing evil isn't cheap.
Posted by s1lentslayer on 07/14/09 at 02:29 PMhaha, very good
Posted by jashcraft1014 on 07/14/09 at 02:53 PMI didn't quite get that Preist, Rabbi, Orphan joke
Posted by Heroville on 07/14/09 at 03:13 PM@Heroville - The joke is that the Priest says "Fuck the orphans" (meaning forget them, let's just save our own asses) and then the FF say "Do you think we will have time?" (meaning that they are both Pedophiles and stupid enough to think the Priest literally wants to fuck them before escaping the boat).
That is a very old (not to mention very offensive) joke that "Dr. Doom" has adapted to his act.
Posted by stuclach on 07/14/09 at 03:24 PMI want Plastic Man to do stand-up. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wIoHDB1FUOM "There's plenty for everybody" says it all.
Posted by chlop on 07/14/09 at 03:56 PMArent' most of these just reworked racist jokes?
Posted by Anson17 on 07/14/09 at 04:00 PMit'd be kind of great if doom had a list (not 'The List' but you know, just a handy little thing he keeps around in order to organize thoughts and goals) of ways to destroy the Fantastic Four. And finally after so many failures, ever true in his aim (not a collection of evil science guys/bee keepers, but his projected trajectory) he takes the stage at open mikes all over the country, inserting the fantastic four into jokes my grandpa used to tell about the Polish.
Posted by Adam on 07/14/09 at 04:03 PMAnd ever since, the prospect of an FF / Batman crossover has made one member of Bats' Rogues Gallery very, very nervous.
Posted by JayOdjick on 07/14/09 at 04:05 PMWell, at least now we know Doom has a blackface under that mask.
Posted by chlop on 07/14/09 at 04:19 PMI guess I just don't get it. What's funny about a guy in a Dr. Doom costume telling jokes older than my parents?
Posted by therealsuperjosh on 07/14/09 at 04:21 PMIf you don't get it, explaining it won't help.
Much like Napoleon Dynamite for me...it wasn't funny for me. My friend tried to explain why it was funny, I would then mention to him that explanations didn't make it any less boring for me.
Posted by Crucio on 07/14/09 at 06:16 PMI love that he is telling the oldest jokes ever. I loved this.
Posted by TimmyWood on 07/14/09 at 06:47 PM@therealsuperjosh (interesting username by the way) - I don't know if anyone is screaming that the jokes are super funny. I think it was posted simply because people might find it interesting (Conor mentions surrealism in the post) and that the situation is funny.
Posted by stuclach on 07/14/09 at 07:43 PM*sigh* It's the presentation.
Posted by PaulMontgomery on 07/14/09 at 07:57 PM@Paul - Didn't I just say that? Maybe my incoherent babble wasn't even more incoherent than usual.
Also, I think you should start each post with a *sign* from now on. Endearing.
Posted by stuclach on 07/14/09 at 08:05 PMThat was awesome, I want a stand up concert film now... directed by Spike Lee...filmed in the Apollo.
Posted by Jurassicalien on 07/14/09 at 09:37 PMThanks for sharing, Conor. Very enjoyable.
Posted by JeffR on 07/14/09 at 10:22 PMI would love to see Dr. Doom do an Aristorats joke with the FF being the family. Would be so Wrong.
Posted by Crucio on 07/15/09 at 12:26 AM@Prax: I loved this video, but your story tops it by kilometers.
Posted by akamuu on 07/15/09 at 02:14 AMerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrm
Posted by loganalpha on 07/15/09 at 06:48 AMSame three people laughing... the rest of the crowd looks like they're mid-way through an insurance presentation.
Posted by OddsBodkins on 07/15/09 at 08:20 AMAs the one who submitted this to Conor, I can say that this routine is in the early stages. I know the videographer, he's the one who hipped me to it. While the jokes aren't THAT funny to me, if Doom were doing standup, it would be EVIL jokes about his obsession, the FF! I like i that the guys doing it didn't care if you "got it" or not. He's DOOM! And He Doesn't CARE! I hear from Zach (videographer) that he's working on a Mysterio! WITH the dome head of frosted glass.
Posted by brassai2003 on 07/15/09 at 01:28 PMHey, Ixnay on the Ysteriomay, don't give away all my material! Besides, if you leak our upcoming comics there is a decent chance Spiderman will shut the whole damn show down.
Just an FYI, I thought I was doing a Doom voice and I'm not the guy from Minisota with the sitcom.
