A Geeky Conversation with Erik Larsen

I've been a big fan of Erik Larsen since his time at Marvel in the late 1980s, so when I saw that Geekscape had an interview with him, I put my away message on and sat down and read it immediately, and you know, it's a pretty good interview.

Say what you will about Larsen and his work and Image Comics, but its hard to ignore the fact that he loves comics as much as you or I, in fact it could be argued that he loves them more than you or me.  He's been making them since he was a kid, and honestly, he's living the dream when it comes to making a career out of something you love.  And what's even better is that he says what he thinks, he's quite direct and can be blunt at times, at that's always fun to read.

I don't have time to read this now, as I'm at work, but I'm definitely scoping this out when I get home.  I LOVE Erik Larsen.  His Savage Dragon series is one of my all time favorite reads as it is just great class, comic book fun.  Now, if only he would put out trades 12-14, so I can complete my trade collection.

Larsen's talents are criminally under rated.  His work on Spider-Man and Savage Dragon are some of the finest super heroic stuff ever done.  The things he's done with Image is really over looked as well.  When he took the role of Publisher, I think the brand was in bad shape and known almost solely for Top Cow and Spawn.  Now they publish a wide variety of books that can't be easily classified.  The man is a comics genius and has a indisputable eye for talent.

Just got don reading the interview.  It was great!  I love Erik Larsen's perspective of the industry, and as an avid Image fan, I'm really glad he's there guiding the company and bringing us such fantastic works.

Thanks, I'm a big Savage Dragon fan, and I love the direction Image has gone in since he became publisher.
