X-Men Magneto Testament Tp
In 1935, Max Eisenhardt was just another schoolboy - who happened to be Jewish in Nazi Germany. The definitive origin story of one of Marvel's greatest icons begins with a silver chain and a crush on a girl - and quickly turns into a harrowing struggle for survival against the inexorable machinery of Hitler's Final Solution. Named the Best Miniseries of 2008 by IGN, X-Men: Magneto Testament follows Max Eisenhardt from 1935 to 1945 as he fights to protect his family and a Romani girl named Magda from the indignities of a Nuremberg schoolyard, the horrors of war-stricken Poland, and the unfathomable atrocities of Auschwitz-Birkenau.

if you haven't read the singles or HC then you need this.
Posted by deadspace on 09/28/09 at 04:25 PMAs an individual of gypsy distraction i had it offense that Marvel felt it was necessary to remove that aspect of Magneto's origin... you could even say i feel a little gypped
Posted by edward on 09/28/09 at 06:07 PMI'm considering reading this, as is my nemesis the bastrd I see!
Just don't know if I NEED to read this?
Posted by KickAss on 09/28/09 at 06:21 PM@KickAss - you definitely NEED to read it. I read it in singles then bought the HC. It's that good.

If you're okay with this not being a Marvel superheroes story, but rather a realistic portrayal of the holocaust that happens to feature Magneto (sans powers or nifty helmet), then yes, it's a must read. If that doesn't sound like your bag, then it probably won't be as necessary for you.
You and I have our differences of opinion, but generally have liked a lot of the same stuff (albeit only on the Marvel side due to somebody's intollerance of another publishing company), so don't let my shared interest in owning this book dissuade you.
