Posted by stustap on 10/12/09 at 05:50 PMis it wrong to say im looking forward to this
Posted by oldmanlogan88 on 10/12/09 at 05:51 PMspidey 3ish times a month is enough for me.
Posted by cromulent on 10/12/09 at 06:35 PMWasn't one of the main ideas behind BND was that they were getting rid of the other Spider-Man titles? Having this come back makes no sense to me.
Posted by TheNextChampion on 10/12/09 at 06:49 PMI'll give it one issue.
Posted by vadamowens on 10/12/09 at 07:06 PMWhy not do a $2 mini issue to fill the gap between ASMs, instead of a $4 money grab? I think a lot of people that won't buy this would pay $2 for a good 10-12 page issue, and it's not like we have a shortage of Spiderman right now.
Posted by jspegele on 10/12/09 at 07:16 PMI was considering this until I read the stories that it will cover.
Posted by BrianBaer on 10/12/09 at 07:20 PMI think this is the first time I've ever rooted for a book that I'm pulling to suck.
Posted by Slockhart on 10/12/09 at 08:43 PMThis might be the first and last wosm I get. Web heads' cred goes -1 after this.
Posted by ato220 on 10/12/09 at 08:53 PMI will buy any book Tom Defalco's name is attatched to...especially SM
Posted by Fvckstick on 10/12/09 at 10:13 PMI am a huge Spider-man fan, he got me into comics, but three a month is more than enough for me. I don't want to read Spider-girl, ever, and I'm not interested in the origin's of Spider-man villians.
Maybe if Amazing dropped to two a month, then I'd get this, but I don't need 4 books.
Posted by Zeppo on 10/13/09 at 07:13 AMWhy relaunch Web again? If Marvel really feels like it needs another issue of Spiderman, just add another Amazing issue.
Posted by boostergold4 on 10/13/09 at 08:33 AMI really wish they would stop with the Spider-girl stories...the rest of this I'm ok with.
Posted by cubman987 on 10/13/09 at 12:29 PM@boostergold
Doing that wouldn't give them the #1 sales bump, which I'm certain is the only reason this is being made.
Posted by Slockhart on 10/13/09 at 12:41 PMMy guess is that this will be like the Extras. Setting up stories for the main book but not neccessary to enjoy ASM. Its what you get the Spider-Man fan who has everything.
Posted by ato220 on 10/13/09 at 05:03 PMOk, so for anyone who is on the fence about this or for anyone wondering what it is:
This book has a story about Kaine in it, kind of gives an orgin and and some info on on what was going on with him before ASM #608, then there is a Spider-girl story, then a short "fun" story, this one has Frog-man in it....at the end, there is an editors letter thing that explains that the first few issues of WOS are going to be the same format; a orgin/background info story about an upcoming villain, a Spider-girl story, and then a short "fun" story with a lesser known villain from Spidey's gallery.
So this is basically replacing Spider-man Family and Extra and will be coming out monthly. If you don't care about the background on Spidey's villains and/or you don't give a crap about Spider-girl then you should stay away from this, especially with a $3.99 price tag.
As it is, I don't like Spider-girl but I like getting the background stories on the villains and enjoy the stupid short stories as well, and since I'm a sucker for anything Spider-man I'm going to continue to buy it. If they get rid of Spider-girl and put another Spider-man story in it I think it would be worth the price, as it is, Marvel is getting that extra $1 out of me because I can't say no to Spidey.

:(
Posted by zayaz on 10/14/09 at 06:16 PMI wish the Spider-Girl story was the long one
Posted by benisjamino on 10/15/09 at 08:19 AMFrog man and the Tadpole need their own book. Now.
Posted by s73v3r on 10/15/09 at 04:48 PMPicked it up but probably won't be picking it up again. Didn't like much anything about it really... Want my 3.99 back.
Posted by Toadmeister on 10/15/09 at 10:42 PMIn my opinion this 1st issue is a complete mess just like the old Web series.
Posted by Indycwf on 10/16/09 at 05:26 AMPicked this up out of curiousity this week.. and it's now sitting in the pile of comics I regret buying along with the recent clone saga #1 that I picked up.. last week? There was nothing special about this. I suppose it's nice, as a relatively new reader after years of being a grown up, to get a primer on Kaine before he appears in ASM but that wasn't enough. Spidergirl? Keep it. Frogman? Keep it. Web #2? Keep it.
Posted by siraim on 10/16/09 at 05:47 PMThe best thing about BND was having one title to collect. It didn't matter if it came out 3 or 4 times a month, it was one title, with one story. I don't want two Spiderman books.
Posted by Crippler on 10/17/09 at 05:29 PMDreadful.
Posted by nuclearman on 10/27/09 at 04:55 PMI didn't think this was as bad as everyone else. It was a 4 until that frog story and then it dropped to a 3. Still ok.

Just what was needed - another Spiderman book to fill that gap week between issues of Amazing! At $4 too!
How can I resist?
