Universal War One #1 (OF 3)
The European best-seller - now finally presented in English! In the midst of a latent civil war between the core planets and outlying planetary settlements, an immense wall has cut our solar system in two. The black wall absorbs all light and matter, and it's up to a band of soldiers facing courts martial to investigate the phenomenon. They're the men and women of the Purgatory Squadron. For which crimes are they here? And can they work together long enough to stay alive once they enter... The Wall?

Just because something in well known or well marketed doesn't mean it isn't good. I've spent a substantial amount of time in Europe, and at the time I wasn't heavy into comics. So, I don't know what the state of comics in Europe are, but I do know in 2005 you could get most well recepted American comics such as Sin City. With that said I do have a liking for European media and sensablities, so I think it has the potential for me to like it from the marketing describtion. Basically I like the "trailer" as it where.
Posted by Brick on 07/15/08 at 02:21 AMSix bucks? What's the page count on this mo fo?
Posted by Brandon2 on 07/15/08 at 06:25 PMit should be about 45 pages of story... that's how long Sky Doll is...
Posted by insight on 07/15/08 at 06:50 PMI was taken aback at the price but I got it anyway. This is one meaty book. It is dense reading and the artwork is amazing. I am a longtime heavy metal reader and I am glad to to see these european titles in comic stories.
Posted by kingvyper on 07/17/08 at 01:08 AMThis is not a comic to just blow thru during a few mins on the can...I read about half, and decided to stop and pick it up again later. That's how dense it is. That's a good thing. Nothing wrong with a meaty story. The art is a BIT vague at times however

I know almost nothing about this. Is it likely to be good?
