Eh, what? Did I just wake up in some parallel universe?

i don't like the name X-club. Science Team is a lot better

Posted by RoiVampire on 06/22/09 at 05:27 PM

@Roi-Agreed, give me Science Team.

League of eXtraordinary X-Men

Like Ron i'm a gluton for punishment, bring it on.

Posted by emacor72 on 06/22/09 at 08:09 PM

I will always collect Uncanny.  So I guess it doesn't matter what I think on this one.

Posted by vadamowens on 06/22/09 at 08:51 PM

The X-Club sounds like a name for a topless bar.

Posted by kthx on 06/22/09 at 10:02 PM

I would have called them the Science Club.

For $3.99, this is slightly bonus-sized, right? I think I remember hearing that. If not, I'll still buy it. I am sort of looking for a reason to stop reading Uncanny this time around, but this issue looks pretty good in and of itself.

Posted by flapjaxx on 06/22/09 at 10:20 PM

Whoa... I didn't notice this before, but when did this series make the $3.99 jump?

Posted by PraxJarvin on 06/22/09 at 11:16 PM

@PraxJarvin: I think this is the first issue.  Did this series get a bit behind?  Because the last issue was 2 weeks ago and the next one is next week.

Posted by CGPO on 06/23/09 at 12:11 AM

@CGPO It was solicited as shipping bi-weekly in the summer months, something Uncanny used to do in the 80s.

Posted by PraxJarvin on 06/23/09 at 12:32 AM

My only beef with the Science Team is that I thought we learned in Endangered Species that this was a magical problem and not a scientific one, so it couldn't be solved with science.

Posted by Diabhol on 06/23/09 at 05:24 AM

@PraxJarvin: Ah, okay.  I remember those good 'ol 80's bi-weekly days, where Silvestri drew one issue and Rick Leonardi drew the next.  I've actually just been re-reading those in the latest Essential X-Men volume.  Good stuff.  But damn, that's a lot of X-books this month, never mind you've got both Uncanny and Forever as bi-weekly.  I pity the fool that buys all of them (sorry Ron!).

Love the Science Team..didn't we just get an Uncanny X-Men a little while ago ?? Whatever..I woudl take this comic on a weekly basis.

Posted by tazz on 06/23/09 at 05:36 PM

@tazz-see PraxJarvin's post up above.  Has been bi-weekly all summer long.

Posted by drakedangerz on 06/23/09 at 05:44 PM

...and that is something Fraction and Brubaker were hoping to get going.

Posted by ABirdseysView on 06/23/09 at 10:11 PM

I love that cover.

Posted by GutterIsATool on 06/24/09 at 03:56 AM

not amazing, but a fun read.

Posted by Imjustbettr on 06/25/09 at 01:45 AM

I enjoyed this issue a lot more than I thought I would.  Good filler!!

Posted by vadamowens on 06/25/09 at 02:41 AM

I don't know if the $3.99 will stick, but this issue was 39 pages, so I'm sure that had at least something to do with the hike.

Posted by Noto on 06/25/09 at 04:10 PM

possibly, it will be 3.99 through the crossover then drop back in September

Posted by ABirdseysView on 06/25/09 at 09:24 PM

Loved, loved this issue.

Haven't read Uncanny in a while (not since 500 warded me off with its Land-iness) and I'm not normally a Fraction fan, but... Steampunk Sentinel? You win this round, Matt; I dub thee 4 stars.
