If anybody can explain to me why I'm still buying this book, you can have a cookie.  I don't have a bloody clue.

We keep coming back because deep down we have hopes that it will get better.

 I'd like my cookie now

You know, though, I don't EVEN think it's going to get better.  It's more a combination of "train wreck" and "at least my favorite character is still alive in this universe."

However, I like your optimistic thinking; too bad there's no way to paypal cookies!

I keep checking this out because it's entertaining to see just how awful a comic series can be. The last 12-16 issues of this series have been like a course on how to completely ruin a series. Kirkman has succeeding in mirroring seemingly all of the mistakes of the '90s X-Titles in one title! Rather than avoiding the mistakes of the past, Kirkman has seemed intent on committing as many of them as possible in as few issues as possible! This is quite an achievement!

P.S. It's been even more entertaining to read this while perusing message boards for this title. It's been absolutely hilarious to watch people hopelessly defend this title for the past year and a half or so.

I'm really only buying it in the hopes that this storyline will tie up everything.  Also with Ultimatum looming and talks of one series being cancelled, the collector in me doesn't want to be stuck without the final couple of issues.  Hey, at least its better than Ultimate FF?

Wow I can't tell how long it's been since UX has been good, and this was actually great! Tons of action, Wolverine gets messed up real bad by Apocalypse, and seems like everyone in the Ultimate universe except the Avengers is in this issue. Why it hasn't been this good in like...forever is my Ultimate question. Get it? Ultimate? Bah.

This is the first time in awhile that I have enjoyed reading this book.  Though Apocalypse being able to rob people of their powers and control them kind of takes away some of the excitement..it's kind of a cheap way of instilling a sense of hopelessness really quickly, i'm still enjoying it. Things always get awesome when Apocalypse shows up.

Whoever said this was better than Ultimate FF is crazy

It actually wasn't THAT bad, especially not with the low expectations going in. On the other hand, because it wasn't quite as awful as the last few issues, it didn't entertain me as much.

I see this title is still on Ron and Conor's lists, I wish they'd mention it a little more often on the podcast. What Kirkman has done to this series is noteworthy; I can't think of any other title that's been messed up so completel, so convolutedly, in so short a span of time.

@Balefuego:  Sorry.  UFF lost me a long time ago.  I tried to stay on, but I could never understand what was going on.  And I tried to pick it up again recently and i felt the same way.  Different strokes, for different folks I guess.

I think there are lingering resentments towards UlXM because the art team that took over when Kirkman did. That guy may be the worst professional artists I've seen in 10 years. The new art team is much stronger. Not my personal favorite artists, but readable.
