Sub-Mariner Depths #2 (OF 5)

Sub-Mariner Depths #2 (OF 5)

The latest offering from the red-hot Marvel Knights line offers a searing vision of Namor, the Sub-Mariner as you've never seen, brought to you by Peter Milligan (X-Force) and Esad Ribic (Silver Surfer: Requiem)!

Atlantis. Throughout the ages, a few men have wondered if this fabulous place actually exists. Fewer have imagined that the city is protected by a wild and vengeful being, the very embodiment of the untameable depths themselves -- the Sub-Mariner. When a legendary adventurer named Randolph Stein travel deep into the dark belly of the Marianes trench in search of a missing deep sea expedition, he is about to encounter things that supersede his wildest imagination. There is something down there in the murky depths -- something far closer to God than man -- and it has been waiting for Stein for a long, long time.

Last issue was so damn amazing, it was my POTW 3 weeks ago. Great art and a story that is really interesting right now. Cant wait to see where this is going.

Same here, Champion. I love how it seems to be taking place in the Kirby-ish Marvel version of the 60s.

I cant wait for this. Not only was the story just spot on awesome, the artwork is so damn slick and fits with the mood of the book sooo damn well.

Ah, I loved the first issue. Namor was one of my favourite characters when I was a kid so it's great to see him in his own book, even if he did barely appear last month. Namor kicks ass!

This is definitely the leading "pre-Wednesday" odd-on favorite for my pick of the week.

Makes me want to dig out and play Bioshock again.

I think we're the only ones on Earth-Prime reading this book, and that's a damn shame.

Peter David's Aquaman could kick Namors butt, just sayin.

I'm not a milligan fan usually, but the fuirst issue was great. And there isn't much you need to say about Ribic's art. just look at it.

What has Milligan wrote besides this new mini? Sorry I dont know much on the history of the guy, but if it's as good as this...I want in on more Milligan goodness!

Posted by TheNextChampion on 10/02/08 at 11:17 PM

He wrote X-Force/X-Statix for Marvel, one of my all-time favorite series.

the dr. strange/dead girl mini he did was pretty cool, aside from that milligan has been hit or miss. mostly miss though.
