Stand Captain Trips #2 (OF 5)

Stand Captain Trips #2 (OF 5)

Stephen King's horror epic continues in this issue as the unseen killer, the super-flu Captain Trips, spreads across the entire country, a tide of disease and death. Meanwhile, in Atlanta, in the Center for Disease Control, the US government has taken a keen interest in Stuart Redman, who seems to be the only person immune to the Captain Trips infection. They are determined to find out why--with or without Stu's cooperation. And what do the recurring nightmares Stu's been having--about a dark man with red eyes standing in a cornfield--mean? Plus: Frannie Goldsmith and her father! Larry Underwood in New York! And Nick Andros takes a wrong turn in Shoyo, Arkansas!

I'm debating whether or not to drop this and wait for the hardcover. The first issue was spectacular, but my wallet informs me that I may need to let something go. :(

@J4K3: No stick with it!! It's such a great story so far, actually more entertaining then The Dark Tower: Treachery right now. I mean you cant let money rule....

*notices wallet is in bad shape*....Okay maybe I can see where your going with this :(

Money is the only reason to drop this, especially when I could be getting Four Eyes... (seriously).

is Four Eyes good? I wouldn't drop this. Not this.

The first one was great, looking forward to this issue.

I've heard and read so many people saying this is a prequel or an introduction to the actual story (Thankfully nobody in this thread).  This IS the actual story, and these are the first few chapters of the Stephen King novel The Stand.

Since I've read both this and the Dark Tower Books I (And I'm sure many others) can tell you this story continues to be good and for my money is MUCH better than the drawn out Dark Tower books.  Do not drop this if you've enjoyed these first two issues, it is literally an epic.
