I pulled it but I am pulling for some self control at the last second and toss it back on the rack, the first issue was weak but now that I bought that I feel like I should get issues 2 and 3 just so I have the story.

Posted by PhantomPhrenemy on 08/15/08 at 01:04 PMI have to say I'm really disappointed with this one. Alan Heinberg PLEASE come back and save Young Avengers. To say it's going astray with these bit part appearances is an understatement and a half...
The story here isn't wholly bad, but you just get the feeling this book is being done for the sake of it - 'It worked for Civil War - let's do it again!'
The artwork is seriously underwhelming also. This sub manga style doesn't really suit Runaways or Young Avengers, but it's the flat dark colouring which grates so badly with me. This pencils could be made infinitely better if the colours were good. They still wouldn't be great, but much more passable.
This whole thing is shaping up to be a pretty hideous mismatch.
