Secret Invasion Fantastic Four #1 (OF 3)
Part 1 (of 3): "Negative Energy"
The invasion has started, and no one in the MU is safe, not even the First Family of Comicdom! Aware that some of the Earth's most advanced technology and weaponry is housed in the Baxter Building, the Skrulls have neutralized the building--by transporting it and its inhabitants straight to the Negative Zone! With one member of the Fantastic Four M.I.A. and another "replaced," it's up to the remaining family members--not to mention Franklin and Val—to get back to our dimension, Skrulls or no Skrulls. But are any of our heroes who they think they are?

He wrote "4"--I think it was a Marvel Knights bookstarring the Fantastic Four. Not really my cup of tea but I've read worse. At least he's not a stranger to the characters.
Posted by saturnmda on 05/13/08 at 10:33 AMYeah, and this features the return of Johnny's Skrull wife?!! Talk about "secret invasion."
Posted by southbymidwest on 05/13/08 at 06:54 PMHas anyone read Geoff Johns "The Thing - Freak Show?"
Posted by PymSlap on 05/13/08 at 08:00 PMYeah, that was the best Thing story in years at that time. BABY WATCHER! Then came Dan Slott...
Posted by southbymidwest on 05/14/08 at 01:44 AMBarry Kitson? I'm in.
Posted by conor on 05/14/08 at 04:38 AMI'm on the fench about this book, should I buy or no? I've been on the regular FF book for 8 years
Posted by spydermon on 05/14/08 at 11:32 PMspydermon - Honestly, this felt like classic FF to me, much more than the current Millar/Hitch run over in the main book. Plus it has the return of an important (well, semi-important) character who is part of FF history. Pick it up. :)
Posted by Mandi on 05/15/08 at 08:06 AMKind of liked this...so are we to believe that Reed has been a skrull for a while?
Posted by AlexG on 05/15/08 at 10:24 AMNo.
Posted by projektidiot on 05/15/08 at 10:36 AMThis was really good.
And it was nice to see Kitson in a book I was actually willing to pay for.

I like The Four in small doses. This is perfect for me. Ben was a riot. and.. Finally a book with some actual present day Secret Invasion actions taking place other than the flagship.

I really enjoyed this issue. Johnny is such a doofus though.
Posted by JMF on 05/16/08 at 05:34 PMDefinitely worth the red. Out of all the books since SI #1 came out, it seems that these tie ins have been the best. This and the Captain Britain tie in, were the best of lot.
