Punisher #59
"VALLEY FORGE, VALLEY FORGE," PART 5
Garth Ennis concludes his seminal run on PUNISHER -- in style.
It all comes down to a tape. And what seven desperate and insanely powerful men have done to conceal it. So far, they’re off to a good start: A Special Forces Squad has got the drop on the Punisher and is poised to fulfill the kill order. But then there’s a twist — a development no one could have seen coming, least of all Frank Castle -- and things get really interesting.

Who will be taking over writing duties?
Posted by Kory on 07/15/08 at 09:20 AM@ Kory -- Gregg Hurwitz, a crime novelist.
Only two issues left of Ennis on Punisher ...
*hangs head*
Posted by WadeWilson on 07/15/08 at 11:00 AMI believe they will be printing part of Hurwitz's first issue in the back of Ennis's last issue to hopefully interest people and stop them from dropping this title after his departure. It's going to have to be damn good to stop me from dropping this. My wallet needs to drop something.

Aww shame, it's not Punisher MAX Omnibus!
Posted by SamMorgan on 07/17/08 at 04:03 AMit does seem to have most of the punisher max issues
Posted by chrs7637 on 07/17/08 at 06:10 PM@chrs7637 - I don't think this omnibus contains any MAX issues. They are all from the Marvel Knights line.
In any event, this is a can't miss for Punisher fans.
Posted by ghostwriter on 07/17/08 at 11:49 PMThis is the best arc of a long great run by Ennis.
Posted by DeleriumTremens on 07/19/08 at 01:45 PMThis is Ennis's worst arc. The story is too slow. There is too much exposition. (by the characters, not the Valley Forge inserts) The art is horrible. I will never pickup another book by Goran Parlov.
Posted by Brandon2 on 07/20/08 at 05:43 PM@Brandon2, have you read ANY of Ennis's Punisher up until this point? It's tying so much together that I can barely keep it straight. If you're talking about the prose pages as being "too much exposition", then I fear you are missing the point of this. This is the finale. The big finish. The somber walk off into the sunset. It's time to reflect on all that Frank has done since Ennis started on this book and let it wash over you. Did you skip the excerpts form Hollis Mason's autobiography in Watchmen too? Maybe not, that at least had a couple pictures in it.

I am amazed that crap like Batgirl has more pulls than this brilliant comic!
