I read this in trade too but I have been getting the latest arc in singles because I wanted to check out the new format. It reads great in issues because the expanded page count gives Bendis the chance to let his story flow in a more natural pace in accordance with his storytelling. I also happen to enjoy the back matter. Despite the lengthy waits between issues, I am enjoying this book in issues.
Posted by ghostwriter on 04/15/08 at 02:29 AMI'm loving the ICON line of comics. They're thickness and page count have been great. Even though this is $5 it will be worth every penny. This is going to be great.
Posted by Neb on 04/15/08 at 03:46 PMDoes this book cost $5 all the time now? It doesn't, right? It's usually $4? I'm not a little bit pi$$ed that I paid five bucks for a story that's normal sized for this title at this point, but that included a 13 page letter column. That's a load of baloney. I was MAD that it was so expensive and the only reason it was bigger was because of the huge "letter" page, that while interesting I could apparently have read online at Bendis' forums.
Posted by JonSamuelson on 04/17/08 at 01:16 PMKind of iffy this on this title lately. It seems like it is coming out slow and the pace is even slower. I love the book when it comes out but... think I am going to move to trades on this one. I sure don't want to stop.
