I'm real happy that Marvel read JLApe and all, but unless I get a full book by Art Adams with apes, not goin' for it. A man's got to have some ape standards.

I'm sorry, I'm all for fun in a comic. I dont want to think of myself as a dictator when it comes to my books. But seriously, there is no reason for me to pick it up....Look at the description! I'm already tired of the monkey puns and the issue hasnt even come out yet. Who cares about a universe full of monkey's? It's going to be absolute garbage....Having said that, I'm sure this will be a big hit and I'll be seeing the trades for this crap all over my store.

I wasn't planning to read this, but I got interested when I heard that the (regular marvel) Gibbon would play a big role in this. This is a ridiculous idea. The concept is so stupid and it's so clearly designed to be the next marvel zombies (which it won't be). it is dumb attempt to make some money. But that doesn't necessisarly mean it won't be an awesome book. Hence, I'll give it a try.

@deadspace - thanks for the preview link. I agree with AB, after reading through the six pages, this comic does not look to good. So I won't be picking this up. If by some miracle it gets better in the next issues, i'll pick up the trade. $3.99!?! - the audacity!

The first marvel zombies was good and thats where they should have ended this whole alternate marvel with stuff with apes or zombies or robots or ninjas or what have you, its the same thing with the movie industry where when scary movie 1 came out it was nice an original an actually funny but then a whole slew of movies followed like disaster movie superhero movie date movie etc etc...marvel needs to end this before it spreads thruout the comic book universe like the cancer that it is.

I was just at my LCS and the guy laughed when he got this comic out for the customers. No one pre-ordered it, and he knows that many of his regular costumers wont pick this up...God I love the people.
Yeah after seeing that 6 page preview....it isnt terrible, it's just terribly boring. Nothing exciting with those pages and nothing that makes me want to pick it up...Thank god I didnt get to see those monkey puns though...

I feel dumb. I bought it...and...it SUCKED. The story was plain stupid. The art was sophomoric. Wow...I feel dumb, dirty and foolish. Kinda like if I voted for McCain.

I bought it and I actually really enjoyed it. The inside art was much better than the cover and to story was fun and interesting. It only a four issue mini, come on. If you didn't buy this comic you really shouldn't comment on it.

@weddleb: I did not know the comments section was restricted to only those that bought the book. (I thought that was only the case for the reviews section!). In my case, I learned all I needed to know from a 20 second flip thru (i.e., it was not for me), but of course your mileage may vary. If you enjoyed it, then it was good purchase & money well spent, and that is the bottom line.
