Immortal Iron Fist #14
This is it, kids--the skull-busting, chest-punching, punch-kicking conclusion to THE SEVEN CAPITAL CITIES OF HEAVEN. Seven practitioners of super kung fu, champing at the bit to bloody each other to a pulp. A rogue Hydra cell, intent on destroying K'un-Lun from Earth, loads its terror train full of explosives and prepares to fire it through a warp in space-time. A schism in the leadership of K'un-Lun threatens to tear the city in two. The original Heroes for Hire, outgunned, outmanned, and out of time somewhere in Tibet. And Davos, the arch-rival of Iron Fist, intent on exploiting all this chaos, wants to assassinate Danny Rand once and for all. When was the last time a comic melted your face off? When was the last time you read

Posted by conor on 04/28/08 at 11:01 PMConor--your seminal post on dropping books changed my view on this book. I was holding on to this title for no good reason.
Posted by AlexG on 04/29/08 at 08:58 AMLots and lots of build up to this moment finally some bloody satisfaction
Posted by JoeNY on 04/29/08 at 10:14 AMAlright! One of my favourite titles in a big comics week, this is going to be a good week. This title just gets better with each issue. Hopefully I`ll be reading great Iron Fist stories for years to come.
Posted by whirlwindx on 04/29/08 at 04:29 PM@AlexG - I think a lot of people have jumped off this one. The numbers of pulls are down from what it normally gets.
Posted by conor on 04/29/08 at 05:51 PMI'm going with this book until issue 16 (or whatever Fraction's last issue is) and then dropping it very quickly (some might say like it was hot, I am not one of those people, however :) ), but yeah: hopefully there's actually a lot of kung-fu in this one (I've been promised crazy Kung-Fu action for the last three issues and haven't gotten it, I need me some kung-fu!)
Posted by deezer on 04/29/08 at 06:06 PMI READ IT!!! I didn't understand it at all.
Posted by thewalkingpaul on 04/30/08 at 05:42 PMfooled you! david aja's contribution has now gone down to ZERO pages in this one.
Posted by TehDave on 04/30/08 at 06:39 PMI'm done with this book. No hatred, I'm just culling the list.
Posted by AlexG on 04/30/08 at 08:54 PMHey! No David Aja!
Posted by conor on 05/01/08 at 12:32 AMUnlike what seems like the general consensus on here, I still really enjoy this book. I'll admit that the plot was a bit convoluted and that this arc has gone on too long, but I was still able to follow the basic storyline and I like the characters. The end of this issue made me want to stay onboard to see what happens with these characters in NYC. In addition, I really enjoy all the backstory and sense of history that Fraction and Brubaker have injected into the Iron Fist mythos. Some people don't seem to like that as it adds more complexity to the storyline and makes it harder to follow, but I think it makes the story that much richer. Just my opinion, of course.
Posted by Paradiddle on 05/02/08 at 01:26 PMSorry, I jumped the gun in saying that the general consensus on here is that people don't like this book. One of the reviews is positive, and whirlwindx likes it...my apologies.
Posted by Paradiddle on 05/02/08 at 01:28 PMI dropped this puppy like the forgettable mediocre funny book that it is. No regrets.
