Immortal Iron Fist #13
Two words, punks—BATTLE ROYALE! All the losers in the tournament in the Heart of Heaven get a chance to redeem themselves and obtain the ultimate victory…Danny Rand included! But if Danny couldn't win mano a mano, what hope does he have in a no-holds-barred kung-fu free-for-all of violence and carnage? And meanwhile, on Earth, the sinister Xao launches an attack almost a century in the making, and he won't stop until he's dancing on the ashes of K'un-Lun itself. Oh! And the final secrets of Danny Rand's birth are finally revealed. And this ain't even the finale, sweethearts. By Ed and Matt and David and Kano and Kaare and so on and so forth.

This book never ceases to amaze me. I don't realize how much I love this book until it comes out.
Posted by MeanOldPig on 03/18/08 at 02:27 AMI don't think it's late, its just that last month they had that Orson Randall one shot instead of a regular issue.

yeah, the one-shot about Orson Randall was taking the place of this... it just wasn't technically in the series
Posted by deezer on 03/18/08 at 10:39 AMI think I miss David Aja.
Posted by josh on 03/18/08 at 12:32 PMI miss the tournament! You guys hooked me on this title just as the tournament began and now I feel like we've been stuck in non-tournament limbo for months. But if the cover is any indiciation (and it never is) this should be a great issue.
Posted by nroa on 03/18/08 at 07:51 PMI miss David Aja as well, and I'm surprised I'm saying that. I think the whole tournament thing was a red herring/pump fake. Seems like Fraction set it up like an old school kung fu tournament just so he could mess with it and and not do it. Not necessarily a bad thing, but whatever. I liked this issue the most out of the recent issues tho.
Posted by AlexG on 03/19/08 at 09:57 PMaja is pure gold.
a crew of folks trying to imitate aja makes me want to cry. i was literally getting angry as i read the book, imagining how nice it would be if aja had drawn it.
Posted by TehDave on 03/20/08 at 08:22 AMyeah... aja for 3 pages is kinda disappointing. what a tease.
did he leave the book or something?
Posted by gat0rl1vebeatz on 03/20/08 at 10:46 AMEven though Aja's been gone, I think that Kano's art has been getting better with each issue. It's no Aja, but I would prefer him over the other guy drawing the flashbacks.
