Fantastic Four #559

Fantastic Four #559

You should have remembered the old adage, Johnny: love the woman, love her family. And when the woman is the super-villain called Psionics, that raises the stakes to a whole other level. Now it's the morning after, and Lightwave, Natalie X, Alex U-16, Doc Banner and the Burning Man expect you to live up to your responsibilities. It's the Human Torch's worst break-up ever—or will it be a shotgun wedding? Plus: where in the world is Doctor Doom?

is it just me or does anyone else feel like this is not a Bryan hitch style book? I love Millars writing and Hitch rocked on Ultimates but i feel the book really doenst suit his style.

Maybe I've out grown the F.F. but I wanna see someone other than Doom. I know he is not really the villain in this arc but still, take me to another galaxy already.

@rift - its definately not the same Hitch from Ultimates.  I don't think its possible for him to put out that kind of quality on a monthly book

I was really, really excited about this run... but it's starting to wear thin. The "mysterious" new characters aren't doing it for me in terms of stringing me along. I just want Millar to reveal what's going on, and get on with the story.

I'm with you, goat77. This book is OK, but it's not on the WOW level I expected from Millar & Hitch. I don't usually read FF, and have only been reading it for this creative team, and I'm pretty close to dropping it.

I have had mixed feelings about Millar's run on FF. The first issue was awesome loved the idea, then we meet this giant captain america robot-dumb. But Millar has had his moments so Im still here and the last book rocked I am hoping he keeps it up. Hitchs art is not quite as awesomeas usual but it still is damn good!

Oh my god, that ending was awesome. Millar has had some awesome reveals in this series and Hitch has had some great splash pages.

I almost ruined my copy by spitting my drink in surprise.  I wanna know how these guys managed to take down Galactus!

Could this be a sequel to one of the best parts of the Waid/Weirengo run? I think so!

Guess the headstart wasn't enough if they're hitting delays in just their 6th issue of the run.

Can't say I've been excited with the this new arc but I'll at least finish it.

I am totally digging this run myself.

Maybe it's because I have no interest or care about these characters, but I'm really not into this book. It can't be all that, though, because I read The Ultimates with zero knowledge or care of The Avengers & I loved that book. I just can't get into the characters or the story, and the art is so below Hitch's own standard, it's hard to believe it's him.

Anyway, maybe I should just shut up with the hate & just not read it?

After 20 years of not reading the Fantastic Four, I just started up again when Millar and Hitch took over.

I don't know exactly where M&H's FF fits into the general continuity. It made reference to Civil War, but sure doesn't seem to have anything to do with Secret War.

So can \ should I assume this Defenders team (or at least the Smarty-Pants-Hulk) is from...let's say...the future (or a potential future)?

Totally guessing here, but I don't read enough Marvel to know what other options might exist.

Just curious.
