I wonder how much writing Mr. Card is actually doing on this book. Either way, if it's one quarter as good as the source material, ill probably buy the rest of them.
Posted by jerichobp on 10/06/08 at 09:49 PMWith Dark Tower and now Ender's Game, Marvel seems to have found a new market strategy in adapting popular works in partnership with their authors. It's a new strategy I'm all for in that I don't know what the numbers for Dark Tower are, but it can only widen the comic readership base, don't you think? I'm hoping this is as high caliber as King, David, and Lee's work.
@ jerichobp - I wouldn't be surprised by a deep involvement by Card - he's never been one to shy away from further exploits in Ender's World, and this wouldn't be his first dance 'round the Comic Ball. The novel though blew my bloody mind. I had to re-read the last 15-20 pages at least three times to make sure I "got" it all.
Posted by OttoBott on 10/07/08 at 12:42 AMI was at Comic Con and heard im speak about the comic and that he is really liking what is coming out, and the comic will be used to show hollywood how the movie needs/"will" look like. so not only will we get a good comic out of this but then card is going to go to the producers hand them the comic and say "here make it look like this." thats at least what he said at comic con.

I just read your comment in an accent and it was fine. "Afternoon Guv'ner! I heard 'im order up some bangers and mash"
Anyways, I'm real excited for this book but I can't decide whether to wait for the trade or not...
Posted by CAM on 10/07/08 at 10:23 AMI am so excited for this book, but i might wait for the trade just so i can read the whole thing at once
Posted by MmmBye on 10/07/08 at 11:59 AMI'm gonna look a this a the store...but somebody can please enlighten me? What are the tie in? Ender's Shadow and all? I'm really messed up on what to pick, if I decide to continue on this.
Posted by tittom on 10/07/08 at 04:41 PMWith the first Dark Tower Mini and now this I am starting to wonder if I am wasting money buying the same story over and over again. I will try the first issue I guess and then decide from there.
Posted by Shadowhelm on 10/08/08 at 11:33 AM@at tittorn i believe its the comic version of Ender's Game.
Posted by English on 10/08/08 at 05:39 PMI've dropped the monthly versions of all of the King adaptations, and I'm not even starting with the Ender monthly's. After following the first two Dark Tower series I've decided that this type of material is better suited to a collection. And you know Marvel will put this all together in a sweet hard cover when it's all done!

I loved this book. I hope this doesn't suck because it could make a really fun comic. The battle room stuff should be pretty cool.
