You know, I loved the first issue, but I don't 3.99 love it. Going to wait on the trade for this one.

Yeah, I think I'm in the same boat.  Great read, but I think it's best to wait for the trade.

Wow.....

Huge praise for this book last issue and the two biggest guys praising it are now trade waiting. That's...just bad...

You're already 20% there if you bought the first one hehe.

what's a dollar, HUH? man up

Posted by edward on 05/05/09 at 01:23 AM

It's not just a dollar.

Posted by PaulMontgomery on 05/05/09 at 07:27 AM

@Paul: Your right; it's just an extra $1.07! (gasps)

Posted by TheNextChampion on 05/05/09 at 02:39 PM

It has little to do with the quality of the book. I'd rather buy the trade and save a few bucks in the long run. I'd stop buying single issues entirely if I could.

Posted by PaulMontgomery on 05/05/09 at 05:23 PM

but don't you need to be up-to-date with the single issues for your "job"?

Posted by edward on 05/05/09 at 05:44 PM

The column isn't my job. But I do like to keep up with single issues so I can have an informed opinion. Can't follow everything, though.

@TNC-Thanks for following every move I make on this site and remembering when I praise a book.

I'm in the same boat as Paul, give or take.  I loved the book, but prefer to wait for the trade on it.  It doesn't mean I somehow hate the book now.  Quit assuming things.

I'm on for this one, for sure. This creative team is one of my favorites and I'm lucky enough to have the resources to afford this book, so I'm in unless it goes terribly. I can definitely understand people waiting for the trade, though.

I can't wait for the this trade!

Did you say something Drake?

Posted by TheNextChampion on 05/05/09 at 09:21 PM

I remember when sonia was talking about issue one on the podcast she said that this was unlike anything else that was being published but i remember when i read it i thought "this is such a kirkman book." That's not a dig on sonia or kirkman cause i like this book too...this is just very much kirkman's m.o.

i literally have no idea what TNC is talking about

Posted by edward on 05/06/09 at 06:29 AM

This was was still very good but it lacked the level of overtop violence that so endeared me to the first one.  Solid 4.  Also, I have never actually seen anyone get their neck snapped by a person with super strength but I don't think that this is how it works.

Posted by Spoons on 05/06/09 at 06:09 PM

A very strong 3/5. Not quite as good as the first issue, but it's settting up for something that I think will be very interesting.

"Waiting for the trade" is not a part of my vocabulary!!
