Deadpool #5

Deadpool #5

"HORROR BIZNESS," Part 2 (of 2)
This is what Deadpool has to resort to, only days after single-handedly saving the entire planet from Skrulls? Oh, that's right - nobody knows about that...Deadpool didn't even want this job. But here he is anyway, in some dank corner of Eastern Europe, going toe-to-toe with an undead plastic surgeon and his flesh-eating clientele, contracted by the head of a greasy paramilitary unit to avenge the zombification of the guy's young, ex-model trophy wife -- and all because Wade's dead broke.

This is quickly become one of my favorite books.  Should I pick up the Cable & Deadpool trades?

Posted by Brandon2 on 12/15/08 at 06:43 PM

If this issue delivers, I will be sticking with this title.

I liked the last issue a lot.

@Brandon2 Yes. Pick up the Cable Deadpool trades they are really funny and worth the money

Posted by cyberauron on 12/15/08 at 07:01 PM

@Brandon2

I agree. Cable & Deadpool is pretty funny. The bits in which Deadpool talks to the audience are particularly good.

I'll add it to my after X-mas list.

Posted by Brandon2 on 12/15/08 at 10:54 PM

if u want recomendations the first 2 trades are realy good. The second trade I daresay is when the series started to be great.
Best scene

Cable: Why did u warn me..... U think I can pull it off

Deadpool: No I dont

Cable: U actually believe in me

Hmm....Medina isnt doing the art at all in this issue. I know Barberi didnt some of the art last issue, but I couldnt tell the difference. Hope it's the same way with this issue.

Should we tape over the writing credits, write in Alan Davis to replace, and give it to Ron? That could work...

This is my favorite new series. Which is strange considering I have hated almost every other character Way has written.

I actually thought last issue was disappointing, but I like the arc so far. The cover art took a weird turn too, went from very realistic to more cartoony now.

I'm itching for my Deadpool Fix.  can't wait.

Posted by MrPopular on 12/16/08 at 10:02 AM

Didn't think I'd ever be reading a DP book, but here I am, five issues deep and loving it.

Has anyone else heard of the Thunderbolts/Deadpool crossover coming up next year?

I might break my vow of no new Marvel comics just to pick up Thunderbolts. That just sounds like a great fight waiting to happen.

arch issues 1-3 had me losing hope in this series, but after issue 4 and the new arch, i cant stop re-reading it. This may be my favorite re-occuring next to Dark Tower.

The artwork has always been what carries this book IMHO, the Secret Invasion tie-in was good and last issue was very fun as well. As long as it continues being a good, exciting book with good artwork this should continue to be a good comic.

Yay! Picked it up today and was thoroughly satisifed. I will be sticking with this then, I just can't wait for the Osbourne tie-in again.

Posted by coleman on 12/17/08 at 06:41 PM

it had me on Saftey word, Saftey Word!

Posted by cyberauron on 12/17/08 at 07:45 PM

I let out a huge lol @ safeword.  It must have been a Y reference, but if not, there's where I took and it was great.

Also, BTO lyrics?  10/10!

I loved it that Way brought back the chair. You think the C4 chair was just a throw away joke, but it ends up as a plot advancement at the end of this issue.

Safety Word was a great joke; but I loved the zombies throwing up Deadpool's flesh and the kicking of the head back into the burnt city. My god, this is such a great title and Ron, Josh, and Conor are missing out on such a funny book. Shame on them, but good for us. Probably the most underrated book of the year.

I love this series, but I want to see Weasl and Bob come back, Plus did u see the detail on the mask when he was caught. The expression the artist mad ewere great

Posted by cyberauron on 12/18/08 at 07:13 PM

deadpool is one of my top comic charecters.  love the book but the art is very cartoony! liefield was my favorite deadpool artist, but hey at least deadpool has his series gion!

Posted by bugeyed13 on 12/18/08 at 09:00 PM

This was so much fun. it got a bit tarintino at the end but not enought to not like it.  @cyber bob is on the cover & will be back in Deadpool #7

Posted by MrPopular on 12/19/08 at 09:12 AM

Reallllllllly. Yes now I just have to wait two months to see it

Posted by cyberauron on 12/19/08 at 06:39 PM

I was going to drop this but I picked it up the other day to finish out this arc. I'm glad I did because this was my favorite issue of this series so far. I'm gonna stick with it until the crossover with the Thunderbolts is done and then evaluate the book again at that time.

Posted by cman12 on 12/20/08 at 12:33 PM

Mindless fun.  No pretense.  Fitting art.  What a Deadpool title should be.

Posted by rwpos on 12/22/08 at 11:56 PM

Dropped. Not funny enough to justify paying for.
