Everything about this book, including the fact that it exists, annoys me.

I probably won't get this. Unless my store puts this in my pull bin. Let me call them...

This story has to add SOMETHING besides the pre-crossover fight between Cyke and Emma. There has to be more substance to this then we've been led on. I refuse to believe that a book this ancillary is going to exist!

Oh, Chris Chris Chris.  It's like you don't even KNOW Marvel comics.

But you're right, I'm sure they'll throw in some kind of twist.  I kind of hope Emma is having an affair with Namor.

What about the rest of you?  What would you like to see Emma (or Cyclops) confess?

Posted by ohcaroline on 09/23/09 at 09:43 AM

You mean Cyclops confess to having an affair with Namor?

I guess this would be pretty good if you haven't been keeping up with the X-titles and Dark Avengers....but for someone who has read all of those, I kinda feel they could have just put this on the last few pages of one of those other books....oh well...not bad...but certainly not great.

They basically said everything I knew the characters were thinking, but I can't say being right is worth $3.99

Um... page 15 looks like it has a Black Lantern in it. Or at least someone in Black Lantern attire. =\ smooth marvel... smooth.

I believe that is Laura's mother.

I thought this wasn't bad.  it did prove that Cyclops and Emma were aware of each other's true motives throughout the crossover, which maybe could have been left as it was.  the conclusion of Utopia suggested that at least Scott was aware, if not both of them.  the art was the best part of this.  I liked this Bing Cansino guy.  That panel of Emma's reflection in Scott's glasses, perfect.

Why do they keep putting Yost on these character-centric books when he is manifestly terrible at writing character development?

Posted by ohcaroline on 09/25/09 at 03:16 PM

Meh. I thought they would give me some more insight into the Emma and Cycylops planning and scheming against Osborn. The book really lacked any substance. It tried to be a "relationshipy" book but failed miserably at doing so.

This turned out to be, quite easily, my least essential purchase of the week.  This was heavily emphasized by the fact that the other two xbooks this week (The List and Uncanny) seemed to be unaware of the events of this book.  Nice for Emma that The Void was temporarily not in her head for whatever reason.  Bah.  I am cranky because for some dumb reason I actually thought there would be interesting revelations in this book.

@mrlogical

This story took place before the conclusion of Utopia, well before Emma got The Void in her.  Why did they wait to release this till now?  So they could charge us $4 for a recap of everything that has happened in the recent X-books and then tell us what we already figured in the last few pages.

I enjoyed it.
