Am I the only one who thinks Romita is at his best on this book?
@AdamZ - That would be strange, but possibly cool.

Between Amazing Spider-Man and Kick-Ass, I think JRJR is the best he has ever been right now. How mnay artists can you say that about who have been around as long as him?
Posted by JohnVFerrigno on 09/02/08 at 08:13 PM@JohnVFerrigno
Few to none, sir. And the sames does indeed go for Kick-Ass.
Posted by J4K3 on 09/02/08 at 10:20 PM@J4k3 - agreed. JR Jr. is the artist who got me into comics (him and Joe M@d oddly enough) in the first place with his Spider-Hunt and Identity Crisis archs on Peter Parker: Spider-Man. As romanticized as those first impressions of Great Comic Art is, his new stuff is just amazing. The Kick Ass pencils are pretty darn good, but I feel like he's really back with a vengence on ASM. It's the best I've seen his work, period. Klaus Janson and Dean White are really nailing it right along with him, too.
Posted by OttoBott on 09/03/08 at 12:49 AMI'm about a week behind because I'm trying out the Heavy Ink service (it's a Godsend so far - the local shop has simply horrible selection and the only closer/better shop is a good hour away) so I'll be reading this one next week, but gyah, I'm quite excited.
Posted by OttoBott on 09/03/08 at 12:50 AMI like where it's going. I knew if I held on to Spidey it'd turn around! And yes, Kudos to JR Jr.
Posted by Foureyes on 09/03/08 at 04:09 AMThis is the first brand new day arc I have gotten so far. So far it is kinda ehhh. But I am giving it a try.
Posted by Truthseeker on 09/03/08 at 08:33 AMMan, i probably seem like the only one now but i dropped the book because of Romita's art. Dont get me wrong im a huge Romita fan ( i got every trade of his previous spiderman work with JMS ) but this art feels rushed compared. Maybe its cause he is juggling this, the covers for Incredible Herc and Kick-ass but it felt way rushed. The writing was bad and the art couldnt do it for me.
Posted by rift1128 on 09/03/08 at 10:58 AMI finally got to read the first two parts of this and I love it, which is saying a lot b/c I really do not like Venom at all. In the last issue it seemed like Pete remembered the OMD deal-o with Mephisto. I kind of like that actually. A hero's as good as their sacrifices right? Seems cool he knows what he gave up for everyone's benefit but then again I haven't been reading BND that consistently so I don't know if this contradicts things.

It doesn't contradict anything but there have been other hints that he may remember. Just little glances at various chracters. I would love it if peter remembered, just like Angel in that episode during season 1 where he gave up his humanity, or in season 5 where he's the only one who remembers conner
Posted by RoiVampire on 09/03/08 at 12:46 PMThe peter parker variant cover is awesome!
Posted by deadspace on 09/03/08 at 12:47 PMYeah I thought it was cheap how they revealed the new Goblin/Spidey relationship but I can dig it. I wonder who Menance is going to off?
Posted by greendart32 on 09/03/08 at 04:13 PMWell as long as I hear if there is more continuity mistakes in this issue then I'll be happy on not picking it up...At least #568 didnt have those problems, it was just medicore.
Posted by TheNextChampion on 09/03/08 at 09:41 PMjust awesome
Posted by jaredninej9 on 09/04/08 at 01:06 PMI have a question, was this good enough that I should go back to the store tomarrow or should I just wait till next week? ( I picked up a varent of 569 by mistake, a very dumb mistake)
Posted by Guardedmarman on 09/04/08 at 01:58 PMHow awesome is it that we're half way through an event that started less than a month ago. This comic was great. I cannot wait to see what happens next, Dan Slott solidifies his position as my favorite BND Spidey writer.
Posted by cman12 on 09/04/08 at 10:13 PMI am still waiting for a good conclusion to the mystical stuff.
Posted by Trajectory911 on 09/05/08 at 04:35 PMReally liked this issue a lot, love Romita's artwork. However, why does Norman Osborn have a high top?
And is it just me or is Menace clearly Harry Osborne? The last line and the fact that Menace wants to support Hollister seem to point towards this.
Also, Dan Slott is definitely the best of the writers on Spider-man so far, you can tell he's wanted to do this for a long time.
Posted by SilentRob on 09/09/08 at 10:26 PMdidn't mind this issue ... best of the arc so far ... don't like jrjr's art but i am living with it.

Hopefully this will be a great 1st confrontation. Can’t wait to see Anti-venom in action! My major question (that probably won’t be answered this issue) - is Anti-venom a symbiote like Venom, Carnage, & Toxin?
