Is it just me, or does the Blue Marvel's "missing since 1961" backstory sound just a teensy bit like the Sentry?

Slow week, so I am picking this book up. I enjoy Mat Broome's art. The concept sounds alot like the idea behind the Sentry. Hopefully there is more to the story or elese I wasted $3.99.
