Witchblade #118

Witchblade #118

More than any other man, Kenneth Irons was the ultimate adversary for Witchblade wielder Sara Pezzini. But even though Irons is dead and buried, his reach may stretch beyond the grave. Sara’s past comes back to haunt both her and Dani, as the creative team of Ron Marz (GREEN LANTERN, SAMURAI: HEAVEN AND EARTH) and Stjepan Sejic (FIRST BORN) race toward the climax of their first storyline.

I've been reading comics for around 16 years and every time I saw witchblade I just thought it was a horriable TnA comic.  However two weeks ago I was shut down for a weekend with illness and swung by barnes and noble to grab something to read.  I ended up snagging withblade vol 1 by Ron Marz an thought it was really strong.  Before the weekend was over I had read through vol 3 and that Wednesday I bought the back issues from my local shop to get current on Marz's run.  Marz, whose work I have not read elsewhere, is doing a fantastic job of moving this comic from horror, super hero and procedual.  If you have never tried witchblade, and it looks like only 8 of us are picking it up this week, I would urge you to at least try the first TPB, its only a $5 spot.

The art style is the only reason I'll be dropping this book, the story has not been dull at all.
