  1. I am so excited for this. I thought the preview looked great. Can’t wait.

  2. This will be at the top of my stack. The premise sounds great, it reminds me of “Night of the Hunter” I’m sure Snyder and Tuft have crafted a compelling story.

  3. I loved the art in the preview and Snyder hasn’t proved me wrong yet.

  4. Yeah I can’t think of anything Snyder has been linked to that has been less than stellar.

  5. I’m very excited for this, but i’m just disappointed that this is only seven issues.

  6. Is it just me or has there been a big influx in horror comics so far this year? Especially from Image. I picked up Vault #1 last week, and now I’m going to try this, the very good Drums #3, Rachel Rising #1, and there’s also Kult 1 which I’m not picking up. Oh and Sweet Tooth looks horrifying this week to boot.

I’m not complaining! Hope this is good. 😀

  7. Yeah it seems like a lot of mainstream writers are writing in a more horror fashion lately. I’m loving it.

  8. Gorgeous looking book. I want to see more of Futaki in the future. Also, Snyder is gonna haunt my dreams again with this story.

    4/5

  9. This is only 7 issues? hmm i was contemplating continuing but if thats the case for 3 bucks a book and a great story you cant go wrong.

To be quite honest i picked up this booked just off reading the review since it sounded intresting and wasnt all that creeped out by the story so far but its only the first issue

  10. Great start. Very cinematic, I suppose Tuft’s screenplay experience is showing through in that regard. Totally agree with Thenextchamp, the pages look gorgeous. The book felt very “American” too, if that even makes sense, I got a Norman Rockwell vibe. I think pretty soon Snyder is going to have a different book out every week, that should make the waits easier.

  11. Damn.  My local comic shop didn’t get this in…time to start hitting the other guys around town.

  12. That last page really hits a nerve first struck way back in Stephen King’s IT TV miniseries when Pennywise, hiding in the drain, shows his real teeth… Thanks, Snyder, for bringing back the trauma.  Ace first issue.

  13. @Selfstyler  – I wonder if that guy has his tooth filed down, or of he really is a monster like IT.

  14. Ed Gein anyone? Great issue. I didn’t care much for the colors, but man I bet those pencils look amazing!

  15. Hot damn. My LCS only got one copy but ordered more. I believe it’s the only comic shop in my country…. I was so looking forward to this. Is this common policy with Image books, with not printing enough copies?

  16. No luck getting this, but my local guy did order me a second printing of it, and added it to my pull list.  Agh…now I have to wait to read it!!!
