Young Liars #5
Shipwrecked on the island of Ibiza, the Young Liars must survive on their wits alone. Sadie's disappeared, so the search for the El Greco has been called off, but not by Runco, who's making his own plans, while Big C learns a frightening secret, which brings her closer to Danny - but the Pinkertons make her pay a horrible price for it. And finally, things turn really dark as Danny sings soprano in a little story we like to call "The Midget and Mr. Johnson!"

I have to say I'm still loving this. Yes, some things are a little fuzzy right now but I'm sticking with it as it's bound to work itself out. Imagine how pissed off you'd be if you'd walked out of Fight Club halfway through?
Posted by Eyun on 07/09/08 at 07:10 AM@Eyun: But if someone would've walked out of Fight Club, how can he be pissed? He never saw the ending...;-)
Posted by cylonpete on 07/09/08 at 01:21 PM@cylonpete - You make a good point, I didn't think my wording through. Let's have another go... Ok, Imagine you walked out of Fight Club halfway through, and then a few months later you're down the pub with your mates and they all want to talk about the ending because it was amazing, but they can't...
OR... You walked out of Fight Club halfway through, and then you watch it on TV a couple of years later and realise it was amazing... or rubbish, depending on your point of view...
Ok, I'm spent...
Damn you, cylonpete!!! ;)
Posted by Eyun on 07/09/08 at 07:06 PM@Eyun: Oh man, it's just so much fun driving people nuts...:P
Oh and the thing, with the pub and the mates, reminds me of the time I accidently spoiled someone The Sixth Sense...But that's a completely different story...
Posted by cylonpete on 07/10/08 at 03:36 PMOH... MY.... GOD...
I never read Stray Bullets, so I have no idea how this compares. This is some of the most twisted shit I've read in a long time! Not at all what I expected it to be. And you know what? I'm liking it!
Posted by rochvail on 07/10/08 at 10:53 PMjust read the first 4 issues in one sitting and i loved it. lapham is at the top of his game, and the colour art is gorgeous.

@rochvail: READ STRAY BULLETS!!!
In comparison, it's tough to say which is better, being that this is still in its beginning stages, but this is definitely a contender. Lapham is indeed at the top of his game. Whoever it was that said it reads like a rock song is dead on. Issue two had me scratching my head a little, but once I realized that this story isn't necessarily told in chronological order like every other comic book story out there, it made total sense.
Not to sound too cliched, but this is definitely a roller coaster ride, and I don't want to get off!
Posted by ActualButt on 07/12/08 at 01:20 AMIt is just hard to look away. There is some very crazy stuff going on in this series but I am liking it.

Close to a passing on this title. A promising start has veered off into what the 'F' is going on territory…. and not in a good way.
