This is...strange? Not sure why they're doing it exactly?
Posted by Cooper on 12/09/08 at 07:49 AMI suppose it is strange but I just think it'd be cool to have it in singles, and also to read it from month to month the way it was when it first came out :)
Posted by deadspace on 12/09/08 at 01:09 PM@deadspace Yeah that was my thought too.
Not strange really. They've made a butt-load on the collected editions in the last 6 months or so. They can make a bunch more by just reprinting the old issues. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say while this one is cheap, #2 will be $2.99 or 3.99
Posted by TheKZA on 12/09/08 at 05:17 PMIf the rest is $1.50 (or $1.20 for me), then sign me up.
Posted by J4K3 on 12/10/08 at 12:53 PMI guess I'll see how I feel at the store. I already have the trade (obviously) and recently ordered the Absolute...I guess I could go for the hat trick...?
Posted by Cooper on 12/10/08 at 07:04 PMSaw this in the store and it didn't have the original cover!!!:( One of the coolest things about the Watchmen covers was that all the covers where the first or second panel of that particular issue.
Posted by WinTheWonderboy on 12/11/08 at 02:47 PMSomeone borrowed my trade and hasn't returned it yet. I wanted to read Watchmen again, which is why I'm getting these issues. I hope they're all priced at 90php (here in the Philippines). If it were priced regularly at 165php or upwards, I wouldn't be getting this book.
Posted by samuraigrifter on 12/11/08 at 03:07 PMThis is the only one there is going to be. They're not reprinting the rest of the series monthly. It's just a sample to get you to buy one of the versions of the graphic novel. Or if you download itunes, you can buy the Motion Comics. I have a couple of those but I think I'm just gonna go out and buy the graphic novel soon. I like to read things at my own pace. If I'm not paying attention for a second, I can just go back and read that part again. I don't have to try and rewind it back to the exact place that I missed, and hope I understand what the guy is mumbling this time.
Posted by robbydzwonar on 12/12/08 at 11:24 AMaw that sucks. they should do the full run! :(
Posted by deadspace on 12/12/08 at 05:21 PMWhat a stupid idea, they should at least reprint the entire series. How cool would it be if people now a days could buy the story in it's original form?
Dont get me wrong, the trades are selling fine at my work; but if we had single issues...I'd sell those out in a heartbeat.
Posted by TheNextChampion on 12/13/08 at 02:00 PMI don't like the new coloring.
Posted by miyamotofreak on 12/14/08 at 04:41 PM@WinTheWonderboy The original cover (and back cover) are behind the 'reprint' cover. If you wanted to (and I considered it), you could remove the front cover and have the real cover.

if i didn't just buy the hardcover for myself, i'd really be tempted for this. smart of DC to sell it for 1.50 though, i'll give 'em that
