Looking forward to seeing what the world is like with a new trinity in place.

I'm actually more interested in seeing where the Trinity ended up.

I couldn't get last week's issue, so I'm looking forward to reading two issues of Trinity back to back (I never thought I'd type that after those first few issues!).

This has turned out to be great! I can't wait to see the new world that has been created by removing the trinity. This may turn out to be as good as 52 at the rate it is going.

Trinity has been gradually gaining some steam.  I was on the verge of dropping it, but I think I am going to stick with it for a bit longer.

Congratulations to Busiek, Bagley and Nicieza for making Konvict a little more simpathetic a character. This weekly is the actually pretty good!

I'm loving this book, it's a great reason to head to the store once a week.

More happened in this issue than in the entirety of either Secret Invasion or Final Crisis to this point.

Yeah this was a pretty great issue.  Loved it.  I thought the 2nd part was pretty cool but I had no idea who that guy was.  Should I?

Posted by CharlieBlix on 10/02/08 at 09:02 AM

@CharlieBlix - I don't know if we are meant to know who he is or not.  My interpretation (which may well be wrong) is that he is simply an individual who died in the "old" world, but if the Trinity never existed he would have survived.  I think he is simply acting as a window into the changes this world has experienced.

(I just realized my explanation sounds a bit like Jason Todd's "history".  I will have to get that comparison out of my mind before I read the next issue or it will annoy that shit out of me.)

hmmmm... so you folks are saying I should un-drop this?

Posted by jonnjonz on 10/02/08 at 04:28 PM

@jonnjonz - I can't say for sure that you will like it, but I can tell you that I do and that the ratings on this site have generally risen since the early issues.  I am enjoying it a great deal and think you should give it another shot.

Posted by stuclach on 10/02/08 at 08:01 PM

I have been enjoying this all so far, but i can see why some people dropped it.The lead up to this did seem to take a long time, but it is getting really intresting and i am excited for what will come next.

Sadly, I had to drop it because I have to cut back on my comic buying.  I was spending more than I ever intended to.  It sucks because I actually liked this.

This was awesome, I love where they are going with this story, there is SO MUCH they can do ... lucky they have so many issues to play with!

@CharlieBlix -- I don't think we are meant to know who that dude is, just a random guy (I think).

Posted by WadeWilson on 10/03/08 at 06:51 AM

Um, could I jump on the book at this stage or is it necessary to have read the first issues? It sounds interesting now, but I haven't read a single copy yet.

@ garrett: morgaine le fey, despero, and the riddler from the antimatter universe use magic and the cosmic egg which contains krona to take superman, batman, and wonder woman out of existance. this is the first issue with them gone and you begin to see the difference it makes. knowing all of this, you should be able to follow the rest of the story.

Posted by micahmyers on 10/03/08 at 08:28 AM

@garrett - I agree with micahmyers.  His summary is pretty solid and should have you up to date for this issue (one of the only things I would add is that John Steward/Green Lantern is having some sort of nanotech transformation that has been building for a few issues and manifests in this issue).

So I did some looking online and it turns out the guy in the 2nd storyline IS from somewhere.  In Batman #251 The Joker goes around killing his old crew and Bigger was one of them.  I guess before this comic the Joker had been pretty silly and not very scary so the writers wanted to build him up as a cold killer again.  Batman was running after Bigger trying to let him know the Joker was after him.  That whole thing in this comic with him running through the warehouses and through tunnels is right from Batman #251.  Bigger ended up tricking Batman and runs away because he doesn't believe Batman and he runs right into the Jokers hands who hangs him.

Pretty sweet.

Cool. My local store sells this on a 3 for 2 offer so I don't mind getting back issues, just wanted to make sure that it'd make sense if I jumped on now.

Nice one CharlieBlixipedia! That's cool.

Posted by WadeWilson on 10/03/08 at 12:06 PM

Very interesting.  I wonder if that history will play a role moving forward.  Nice find.

Posted by stuclach on 10/03/08 at 06:55 PM

i read the first 5 or 6 issues and dropped it. it felt like a children's books with the random alien falling from the sky and no one can beat him. just midlesss, but i picked this up and liked it. was kinda confused but with the summary you guys came up with i feel like i have my feet planted relatively well in the story.
