Transmetropolitan Tp Vol 01 Back On The Street

DC's new editions of TRANSMETROPOLITAN begin here, with this volume collecting issues #1-6 of the acclaimed Vertigo series from writer Warren Ellis and artist Darick Robertson! After years of selfimposed exile from a civilization rife with degradation and indecency, cynical journalist Spider Jerusalem is forced to return to a job he hates and a city he loathes. Working as an investigative reporter for the newspaper The Word, Spider attacks the injustices of his surreal 23rd century surroundings.

In this first volume, Spider ventures into the dangerous Angels 8 district, home of the Transients - humans who have decided to become aliens through cosmetic surgery. But Spider's interview with the Transients' leader gets him a scoop he didn't bargain for. And don't miss Spider's first confrontation with the President of the United States... in a men's room.

What is the difference between these vol's and the one's that are already out?

Posted by Cadgers on 03/09/09 at 05:23 PM

@Cadgers: Probably new covers.

They are changing what issues are in what volume for the first five or six I believe.  So this new Vol. 1 contains Vol. 1 and 2 of the original trades.

have yet to read this, been waiting for the reprints. SUPER EXCITED!

This is a good deal. I already own the first three trades and I would even consider buying this. This is easily some of Warren Ellis' best work, if not the best.

Definitely a comic that everyone should check out.

I was under the impression that the new printing was going to be in a smaller reprint ratio - like Oni have have been doing with those Queen and Country collections. Anybody else hear that? I actually have all the trades at home from their last run.

They need to release this series in hardcover.

I have not read this. I will buy it TODAY

Herm... I've been meaning to buy all the trades again since I let a friend borrow them in college.  She dropped out and left the city before I could ever get them back from her.  Maybe I'll buy these ones instead, if the printing quality is good that is.

God! they were the good old Warren Ellis days. Transmet, The authority and Planetary!

what the fuck happened to him?

I saw this at the counter as I was checking out  and bought it because I wanna read it.  I was holding out for a HC but I couldn't resist.

No! I'm halfway through buying the old trades, for gods sake dc at least reprint them in the same issues. If they fuck with the order then eventually when the new trades overlap the old ones i'll have to make a compromise.
