Is this something I should read?

Posted by NealAppeal on 05/12/08 at 07:42 PM

@NealAppeal - Well, it's a self-contained one-shot about the first time Superman met Alan Scott, the first Green Lantern.  If that's something you might be interested in, then yes.

fair enough.

Man, I was really excited to see both Batman and Superman are releasing issue 676 this week.  Now I'm not saying this story will be bad, but I really think they missed an opportunity to launch RIP and the new Robinson runs in the same week.  I guess they don't need more attention on RIP, but still it may have been fun.

oooh this does look like something I'd like.  Then again it could be awful.  I'll flip through it at the shop.

I'm undecided on this ... "originally scheduled for Superman Confidential" makes me wanna run from it in fear.

I guess I'll flip through it in the store & make my decision ... & then let you guys know, so you all can sleep.

No offense to the creative team, but when does Alex Robinson start on this book?

Posted by GungaDin on 05/13/08 at 01:45 PM

@GungaDin - You mean James Robinson?  Next month.

Self-Contained one-shot? I'm getting it.

That's a pretty sweet cover. Is it just me or has Ross really upped his cover design skills? Lately the stuff I've been seeing of his for Superman, Batman, and Superpowers has been really exciting and dynamic looking. The Superman Stuff might be the best of the bunch.

That was really good.  Thanks Conor.

I was originally intending to start picking up Superman next month when Robinson starts, but on the i Fanby recommendation I bought this issue.  I really enjoyed it - the art and writing.  Thanks to iFanboy they sold one more copy of Superman in Fargo, ND than they otherwise would have!  But who's to say... Maybe more tha one copy...  Fellow Fargoans Represent! haha

I really enjoyed this. It reminded me a bit of an issue of Detective comics where Batman teamed up with Alan Scott. Extremely well done Vito.

I enjoyed this issue a lot!  Vito has a great feel for the relationship between the two, and anything showing Golden Age characters is OK in my book.  I'd love to read more!
