Seaguy The Slaves Of Mickey Eye #1 (OF 3)

Seaguy The Slaves Of Mickey Eye #1 (OF 3)

In 2008 alone, superstar writer Grant Morrison killed Batman, put the entire DC Universe through its FINAL CRISIS and concluded the unanimously beloved ALL-STAR SUPERMAN. But what does a writer who's written every significant Super Hero do when he can create any Super Hero he wants? The answer, of course, is SEAGUY! Morrison (THE INVISIBLES) rejoins original SEAGUY artist Cameron Stewart (SEVEN SOLDIERS) in an all-new adventure starring the cult-favorite character!

In Seaguy's cartoon future world, everyone is a Super Hero and no one dies. It's absolutely perfect...Or is it? In this follow-up to the cult 2004 miniseries, Seaguy resurfaces with a sinister new partner, a hatred of the sea and a rebel restlessness he can't explain. Why are Doc Hero and his ex-archenemy Silvan Niltoid, the Alien from Planet Earth, whispering strange equations? Why is Death so useless? And can that really be the ghost of Chubby Da Choona mumbling uncanny warnings and dire prophecies of ultimate catastrophe?

When the grotesque powers lurking behind the corporation known as Mickey Eye and the Happy Group attempt to erase Seaguy's entire existence, can he possibly get it together in time to save a world so far gone it can't even imagine the horror lying in wait? Find out here in Morrison's own personal reframing of the Super Hero concept for the 21st century.

I haven't checked out the original before, but I am pretty excited for this.

pretty excited about this one - really loved seaguy, which has the classic morrison sequence of having me baffled, mildly displeased and confused, and at the end quite impressed.

Damnnnn this is coming out?

It pains me to say this but I have to wait for trade on this....But the first volume was so good.

This looks great(as was the first series). It'll be fun to see all the Seaguys from the other realities.

Posted by WinTheWonderboy on 03/31/09 at 01:20 AM

I expect this to be 22 pages of sheer awesomeness and mindboggling plot.

Posted by edward on 03/31/09 at 02:43 AM

I was going to tradewait this but as there is almost nothing else any good coming out this week I think I'll pick it up.

Posted by SamMorgan on 03/31/09 at 03:45 AM

Wait I don't understand who these comic book heroes are I won't buy this comic book no way it's a waste of time and money.

Posted by evil09 on 04/01/09 at 05:03 AM

Wow.  That was fantasatic.

Posted by Gabe on 04/01/09 at 05:52 PM

@evil09-You speak so eloquently.

Two words: Da fug?

Posted by drakedangerz on 04/01/09 at 05:58 PM

@drake:  i think it was a meta-comment. he didn't understand the book so he wrote a difficult to understand comment which is a comment on the book but also a comment on comments

Posted by edward on 04/01/09 at 08:04 PM

@Edward-Upon rereading his comment several times and paying close attention to every word...my mind has officially been blown

Posted by drakedangerz on 04/01/09 at 08:38 PM

actually it does make sense. it just needs some punctuation

Posted by edward on 04/01/09 at 10:28 PM

@edward Ah yes, but where you, he and I would choose to punctuate are relative!

Great issue. Runner up to Pick of the Week. I can't even comment on this issue. Just... read it and bask in the psychotropic rays of Morrison's mind translated through Cameron Stewart's hand.

i have no idea what i just read, but since its not DC icons, im okay with that.  i also hit some invisibles as a primer

Posted by mikeandzod21 on 04/01/09 at 11:35 PM

great art, totally confusing story with some great moments but it doesn't satisfy me at all in any meaningful way

Posted by markfg on 04/02/09 at 10:05 PM

Huh?  Love the art, hate the story, no issue 2 for me thank you.  But glad I tried it.

Posted by Urthona on 04/04/09 at 12:20 PM

That was amazing! Although, who's dumb idea was it to spoil the last page on the cover?

Posted by SamMorgan on 04/04/09 at 02:14 PM
