Isn't it a little early on in the series for a flash-back issue? Why not continue the current plot?

I read the first issue free on the Vertigo Web site. I think I'll wait for the trade at this point.
I'm not sure what to make of this series anymore. This character is pretty unlikable.

It seemed a little early for a flashback already. I wonder if this would be better in trades like DMZ.

this is a cool story idea. Sven past could be more interesting than current plot
