Mysterius The Unfathomable #5 (OF 6)
From all over North America, thousands make the pilgrimage to a hot, rocky desert to express themselves in every way imaginable for a week. They gather (somewhat naked) around a towering wooden man who will burn a hole in reality and make a human into a god. Inside that sacrificial effigy are the imprisoned souls known as Mysterius the Great and Delfi the Assistant.
And they have to go to the bathroom.

Right on, Ntpmcrtp! This is one of the best magic books I've ever read. I can only hope that many people are planning on checking this out as a TPB, since the pull numbers are pretty shabby. Amazing how much crap is selling better.
It will be interested to see, btw, how this book ends...what tone do you strike? Well, beside Mysterius' smug self-congratulation and I assume a little T&A...!
Posted by Urthona on 05/18/09 at 10:42 PMThis is a fantastic title. The issues are JAM PACKED with story and incredibly funny stuff, and of course awesome art. Love this and I'll miss it when its over.
Posted by AlexG on 05/19/09 at 10:44 AMShould be a helluva finish to this next time. It walks the fine line between funny, silly, tense, beauty and awesomeness. This will also read extremely well in trade.

I randomly picked up issue #1 last week, read it & went back the next day and picked up issues 2-4. This is a great book, and I'm sad to see that its only a mini and not an ongoing. The art is beautiful, last issues Dr Seuss inspired madness was drool worthy. And the story is so flippin fun. I want MOAR!
