Definitely a Vertigo book worth reading monthly.
Posted by SunnyvaleTrash on 12/09/08 at 11:31 AMthere's normally 5 issues a trade? I'll be hopping across to trades on issue 10. I love this book, but I feel certain vertigo titles read better in trades

Yes, I prefer to read most Vertigo titles in trade paperback form but I can't wait that long for this one. Northlanders on the other hand, I'm still waiting for volume two to come out.
Posted by robbydzwonar on 12/10/08 at 05:57 PMThis is one of thopse very few titles that I don't read for the story but rather for the charachter interactions. Eventhough I don't know what's going on half the time I really enjoy the dialogue. Every month I think I'll drop it, but then at the last minute I have one of those "I can't quit you" moments.
Posted by Davetron3k on 12/10/08 at 06:26 PMI really wish they'd bring back the fellow that the did the covers for the first arc. I don't really like Fabry's work as of late (Hellblazer, Hellblazer: Chas, and this).
Posted by SunnyvaleTrash on 12/11/08 at 11:58 AMWhy do I love this book so much? Is it nostalgia? The connections with the Dreaming and the original House of Mystery... Able making a cameo appearance? The fact that I'm not sure what's going to happen next or the possibilities of the endless stories that could be told... there's so much potential there. The fact that we get a guest artist every issue... I like the format of the ongoing story and the story within the story that harks back to the books anthology roots. I just feel this book was written for me. |:o)
Posted by TheApeThatEscaped on 12/14/08 at 07:02 AMYes, I love this one also. I have every issue, of this volume anyway. I'm thinking about ordering one of those Showcases where they reprint some of the old issues. I hear some of those are very good too. I wish the people who run this site would instruct the users on how to do User Reviews, then there would be a lengthy review for this title every month because I would do it, and I have rather descriptive writing skills.
Almost seems like a waste, doesn't it?
Posted by robbydzwonar on 12/14/08 at 07:20 AM@robbydzwonar - on the page that shows all your pulls for the week there is a link under each comic that says "write a review".
Posted by deadspace on 12/14/08 at 06:16 PM@ deadspace, THANK YOU! I can't even count how many times I wanted to share my opinion on this site but couldn't figure out what to do!!! Thank God there is somebody who could take half a second out of their life to briefly explain that to me. THANX again...
I'm gonna publish a couple of reviews on Wednesday 4 sure.
