@sizzle: It's at issue 10 dude...if it hasnt made sense or pulled together now, then it never will.
Just like Trinity, I dont understand why this is getting pulled. The art has been medicore at best, and this is some of the worst writing I've ever seen....well until I pick up a Loeb series that is.
If Winick couldnt hold my interest with Plastic Man guest starring, then he wont with a Batman guest starring.
Posted by TheNextChampion on 07/08/08 at 03:03 PM@TheNextChampion - It gets pulled because people like it. Up until Chiang left it was one of the best books around.
Posted by conor on 07/08/08 at 07:00 PMI just dont see why this was considered a great book. Okay, Chiang's art was beautiful....but now the series has had really medicore art so the art isnt the thing that draws me into this.
Plus the story has been dragggggggggged for 10 issues now. Without spoilers, but what happenend to his son is a terrible thing and I would want to avenge him too. But we get one page of him mourning or acting like a dick; then the next moment he's having a funny moment with Hal Jordan about 'aliens' he captured. The development of the plot is all over the place, and when the book tries to be funny; it just falls flat cause it's just not that funny.
Hell I dropped this after issue 5, cause I just couldnt go with this terrible plot. Like JMS or Loeb; Winick is part of a weird set of writers that to me; just go all over the place with quality in writing.
Posted by TheNextChampion on 07/09/08 at 12:14 AMI totally agree. I think this is it for me unless things pick up fast. I was TOTALLY disappointed by the ridiculous looking League of Assassins. I loved seeing PLASTIC MAN...this character needs a QUALITY mini series. There is so much that could be done with him. Somebody call Brubaker and get him back over to DC for this.
Posted by BatStewie on 07/09/08 at 02:47 PMI think I'm going to try giving this a pass this week and see if I care. I have the last 3 issues sitting at home un-read...and I have NO desire to read them. Makes me wonder why I bought them, so I think that means it's time to walk away.
Posted by AlexG on 07/10/08 at 09:26 AMYou know.... I thought last month the story was starting to get somewhere.. but COME ON.... This story is just moving so slow,,,,,
Posted by buckeyerdld on 07/10/08 at 09:08 PMThe story is dragging. I rolled my eyes a lot, especially with yet another "twist" ending. And Norton isn't Chiang. And yet...
And yet I had a ton of fun with the fight in this issue. I really had a blast. While the story keeps dragging and not going anywhere, I'll keep buying this book until it isn't fun anymore.
Posted by UMFskibum on 07/11/08 at 07:32 AMMike Norton SOOOOO isn't Chiang!

This might be my last issue if things don't start coming together...but then again the Bat shows up...who knows?
